Ah, that works! Thank you!

As of build 737, printing the relationship matrix only prints the first page of the matrix. Has this been fixed since?

Thank you! I'd seen that yesterday, but somehow missed the bit about setting the two options flags. Wasn't exactly at my best yesterday ...

General Board / MySQL version for repository (Corp. Edition)
« on: February 23, 2005, 09:34:52 am »
Is there any version requirement for the MySQL server used as a model repository in EA Corp 4.5?

I've got MDAC 2.7update1 installed with MyODBC 3.5.1 and I've tried against MySQL 4.1.x and 3.23.xx to no avail.

with MySQL 4.1.x, I needed to doctor up my users to use the old (pre 4.1) password hash algorithm. Then I was able to upsize my model into the database, but when I try to save a diagram I get an error stating "Multi-step operation generated errors" and EA crashes.

With MySQL 3.23.xx, I'm able to upsize the model, but when opening the model get a SQL syntax error "... near 'UNION select distinct...'" MySQL Docs state that UNION was not available before MySQL 4.0.0, so this makes sense.

So, what version has Sparx Systems tested with? Does anyone have any knowledge of anything I may have done wrong in setting up version 4.1?

thanks,
Dan Christopherson

I'm getting the same (or a similar) issue under Fedora Core 3, using Gnome.

For me, anyway, EA seems to think that the text is located and sized properly, but it's actually drawn below where EA 'thinks' it is. That is to say, the selection/sizing box for the text is in the right place, but the text is drawn a couple heights below that

General Board / Re: copy/paste in sequence diagrams
« on: December 02, 2004, 02:51:10 pm »
OK, I've found 'Copy Diagram to Clipboard' on the context menu in the Project View. Now if 'Paste Diagram...' were available on Use Case Realizations, I'd be ... well, on my way to happiness. The only dodgy bit then would be that the paste operation insists on cloning all objects that are on the diagram, thinking that the diagram (rather than the realization) owns them.

I believe my workaround will be to break up my Realization into multiple realizations, then copy the diagram through a temporary folder. I'll have one sequence per Realization then, which is not exactly what I had in mind, but is certainly workable.

General Board / copy/paste in sequence diagrams
« on: December 02, 2004, 02:18:06 pm »
When I try to select a number of lifelines/objects and messages in a sequence diagram, I find that selecting a message generally de-selects any other objects, even when I ctrl-select. Select all only selects the lifelines, not the messages. This effectively makes it impossible to do copy/paste from one sequence diagram to another.

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

General Board / Package Control XML filenames
« on: October 28, 2004, 08:57:52 am »
I'm trying to split a model into a set of controlled packages for parallel development. It seems like the fully qualified path of the file is kept within the file itself:

<UML:TaggedValue tag="xmlpath" value="C:\Documents and Settings\danch\My Documents\work\clients\WI\ETF\prototype\model\Prototype Use Case Model.xml"/>

This won't work unless all modellers use the same directory structure, which is very limiting, to say the least. Is there any workaround for this?

General Board / relationship matrix only prints first page
« on: October 18, 2004, 07:57:38 am »
I've got a model where I'm interested in printing a relationship matrix to show tracability. Only the first page is ever printed. Is there something I'm missing, or is this a bug?

thanks,

Hi,

You could manually set this relationship using the code generation dialog - but for a lot of classes this may prove unacceptable.

I will investiagte a bit further and see if there is a simple solution to your problem.

Thanks for your help. I've resolved this issue for this project by ignoring it: I just blew away all of the old stuff and started from scratch. Obviously, this is not a really happy thing, so if you can find a better way, I'd much appreciate it.

thanks again,
Dan Christopherson (danch)
