There should be a list of submitted feature requests with voting by community members like many other sites have. Otherwise there are a million feature requests and no idea of what is really important to the users.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Insert related elements on multiple selection

Logged, along with another request I was about to post.

What other means of influence can we apply to get items to the top of the wishlist?   ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll log it. I suppose I could write an add-in to replicate this functionality but it would be better if it was a standard feature of EA.

Suggestions and Requests / Insert related elements on multiple selection
« on: September 22, 2014, 06:20:34 pm »
It seems that the "Insert related elements" option on the popup menu in a diagram is only available when selecting a single element but it is not an option when selecting multiple elements (database views in my case).

Please include it as an option when selecting more than one element in a diagram.

Many thanks
James

Suggestions and Requests / Code engeneering - Groovy
« on: July 26, 2011, 07:18:07 pm »
Would be nice to be able to import Groovy script and generate classes from the scripts.

Cheers

Please include an option under Diagram Property / Connectors to be a bit more specific about hiding labels that apply to all elements on the diagram.

Specifically to hide target and source labels. Currently it is only possible to hide all labels which is not granular enough and going to each connector and changing the label visibility is tedious.

Many thanks
James

Suggestions and Requests / v9Beta 3 - view DDL before generating
« on: May 12, 2011, 10:37:30 pm »
Currently it is only possible to view the DDL after generting the file, it would be more useful in some cases to view the DDL and perhaps just copy to clipboard without needing a file generated.

I couldn't figure out why if I click view nothing happens (doesn't warn you that you must first generate the file before being able to view), having a view option gives the impression that I can just view the DDL that is about to be generated.

Cheers
James

« on: May 12, 2011, 10:29:44 pm »
Please include an option go generate DDL from a diagram - i.e. right click on the diagram and generate DDL from all elements in the diagram.

Cheers

General Board / Re: Microsoft Database upgrade component

I seriously doubt you will have any issues, unless you have custom views or anything like that. The tables are very straight forward.

General Board / Support code engineering - Groovy
« on: July 26, 2011, 03:22:01 am »
Does / will EA support generating elements from Groovy?  I tried using Java and specifying the exentsion as .groovy but no luck.

I have a lot of Groovy codee that I need to document so that we can re-engineer in plain JAVA, was hoping there is a way to do with with EA.

Cheers   ;)

General Board / Fill on border boundary diagram item
« on: May 26, 2011, 05:56:09 pm »
I am using v 9.04

Why can't I set a fill / background colour on a boundary object on my diagram. I understand it's a "boundary" for boxing objects but for documentation (i.e. copy paste to Word) it looks very plain without a fill colour and gradient.

Cheers   :-?

er thanks skiwi, but I think Sparx have blocked me from submitting suggestions and bugs because I use those links so often.

So don't worry, our goal is the same, to get the product to do what it should do for the people that are doing things with it in the best, most accurate and fastest way possible.   ;)

Cheap they are but my master plan is to show them how fantastically brilliant this product is and how we can benefit from it so that they upgrade to enterprise license.

Our developers have dev boxes that are more powerful than the production servers but the analysts can't get a license for a critical piece of software. sigh, we are so under appreciated.   :-[
