Hi Geert,

You were right. I found the addin that caused the problem.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Geert.

Is there any way to check if a script or addinn is running in Sparx EA?

Thanks!

Hi Geert,

I don't think I have a script or addin running. But if I do, how do I check?

If nothing is running, then my only conclusion is that an Activity Diagram has a default line style.

Thanks,
Minna

General Board / Disable Default Line Styles
« on: January 28, 2015, 10:21:12 pm »
Hi,

I am using a Activity Diagram. When I add connectors between Activities, the line style is LV (lateral Vertical) by default. I then change them to Custom (C) in order move them around to fit appropriately within my page.

The problem is that when I add a new connector, all the connectors change to LV again and I need to change all of then back to C and reposition them.

Is there any way to disable the default line style, so that when I add a new connector my current connectors will not change?

Thanks,
Minna

Bugs and Issues / Re: Creating a Second Keystore

Hi,

I found that  installing a second instance of the Keystore Service on another machine solved my problem.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks! I do have some new questions now:

1. Can we create a file-based keystore when we have floating licenses?

2. Will the laptop users be able to connect to the file-based keystore to get a license to use off line? How?

2. The first keystore is created in the ssks drive. I assume then that the file-based keystore would be created in another file on a local drive (Example C:)?

Thanks!!

Bugs and Issues / Creating a Second Keystore
« on: June 25, 2014, 05:19:15 pm »
Hi,

I would like to have a keystore for laptop users and a keystore for network users. The laptop users should have a key for 24h (they link to the network early each morning) and them be able to use it off line for the rest of the day. The network users will have the auto check-in setting enabled.

I already have a keystore that is running, but I don't know how to create a second keystore. Please assist.

Thanks,
Minna

Uml Process / Re: V12 - Add new package to Version Controlled pa
« on: September 11, 2015, 07:55:18 pm »
Hi Boren,

Yes, what I want to achieve is the 'to be part of' scenario you explained. You then stated the following:

"When checking in the parent package the newly created sub-package (and its complete content) will automatically be exported as well and checked in inside the *.xml file of the parent package."

This quoted text is exactly what I want. Sadly, this does not happen automatically. As soon as I check in the Parent Package that is version controlled, the newly created package (that is a sub-package of the parent version controlled one) is not version controlled automatically.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Minna

PS - I use version 12 of EA

Hi qwerty,

This is true. I can either use 'Project/Version Control/Configure', right-click on package'/Package Control/Configure', or right-click on package'/Package Control/Add branch to version control' to add my new package (which is created as a child of a package that is already version controlled) to version control.

My comment is that this is a very tedious process to do this for every newly created package (that is child of an already version controlled package) and I can easily make a mistake and select the wrong version control configuration for my new package.

Is there no automated process as indicated in step 4 of this link? (a package added to version controlled parent will automatically be version controlled to same configuration as well)
http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/9.3/modeling_basics/addpackage.html
(Version 12 of EA doesn't have this checkbox as discussed in the link in step 4)

Thanks,
Minna

Uml Process / V12 - Add new package to Version Controlled parent
« on: August 26, 2015, 06:36:22 pm »
Hi,

Here is the scenario: I have a package that is Version Controlled. So I checkout the package and add a new package with a diagram to this Version Controlled parent package.

When following the instructions on the sparx website (http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/9.3/modeling_basics/addpackage.html) it says in step 4 that there is a 'Add to version control' checkbox that is selected. This is my ideal solution. However, in version 12 of EA there is no such option / checkbox.

Should I now manually add every new package to the parent package Version Control Configuration? This can become very tedious and I can by accident select the wrong Version Control Configuration...

Any advice?

Thanks,
Minna

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. So I cannot create an enumeration (dropdown list) to select an attribute in a run state object.

The idea is to have an Aircraft with all the attributes (empty). I then want to create a Helicopter in one diagram with certain attributes and an air-plane in another diagram with other attributes. But I would like to pick those attributes from a list (if an attribute is set up as an enum).

Is there any way I can do it in EA? I looked at using classes and objects for my solution. Is there maybe something different I can use to solve my initial post problem?

Thanks,
Minna

Hi,

Thanks for the info!

So there is no way to get a drop down list to select from in set run state? Or a way to ensure you are entering a number (for an int attribute)?

Thanks,
Minna

Thanks AndyJ!

I found 'Set Run State' under 'Advanced' though :)

When I create an attribute, the only available types are boolean, byte, char, double, float, int, long, short, <none>, Select Type.

1. How can I create a string attribute?
2. How can I create an attribute that is a list to choose from? Ex Colour should have values 'Red', 'Blue', 'Green' and 'Yellow'.

Thanks!
Minna
