Is it possible to restrict read access to particular project users/groups in EA (v12.1)?

Let's say I have set up two groups in my project: InternalDevs and ExternalDevs

My project is structured as follows

Root
 |- ModelA
 |- ModelB
 |- ...

For instance, I'd like to hide ModelB from being accessible by ExternalDevs.

Is it possible? All the permissions I can grant/revoke are generic and not tied to particular project content.

Thanks,
Daniel

General Board / Reverse engineering C# code - relationship issue
« on: July 04, 2016, 04:19:36 pm »
I'm using v12.1

I have reverse engineered a C# package for documentation purposes, but I miss some basic information in the resulting diagrams.

Example:

Two interfaces A and B. A has a property XYZ which is of type B.
In the resulting diagram, I'd expect a relationship from A to B, but nothing is there.

Could someome give me a hint?

Thanks,
Daniel

General Board / Modeling FKs across different db schemas
« on: September 22, 2008, 09:56:15 pm »
I'm currently playing around with EA's database modeling capabilities.

My database has three different schemas BASE, SCHEMA1 AND SCHEMA2 (just as an example)

In EA I have created a package for each of them inside one particular view (type is Class). Underneath of BASE, there is a table T1, which is referenced from the other schemas (SCHEMA1.T2 and SCHEMA2.T3) via FK. For this, I have put a simple link to BASE.T1 onto the SCHEMAx diagrams, have created an appropriate relationship and the corresponding FK. But EA seems not to distinguish between the different schemas (already in the Foreign Keys dialog). When I generate the package SQL, the T1 table is never qualified with BASE so the resulting SQL is wrong.

My question is: How can I model this relationship so EA will generate afterwards the proper SQL? Or is there an other way how to model database schemas in EA?

Thanks.

Daniel

General Board / Project Integrity Check: "Invalid package object"
« on: July 01, 2008, 09:57:12 pm »
Hi!

when I check the integrity of my project (Shift+F9), I receive the above message for certain packages in my project.

What is the internal criteria for this error message?

I'm working on a sync solution for a large team. We have multiple stand-alone EAPs, but there is a need to keep certain content of each EAP in sync with a kind of project "master" EAP.

That is why I built an Oracle script which imports a package from an external source into the repository being sync'ed (the EAP is transfered to an oracle repository before this). In order to cover all situations I had to shift all other package and object id around (of course, also all references), but something is still going wrong and I can't find it.

Thanks,

Daniel

Is it possible to generate package DDL using EA's automation interface? Regardless of the programming language, but c# would be perfect.

I don't want to program an own sql generator, but I need to automate the ddl generation.

Thanks,
Daniel
