Hi Simon

Clicking 'Order Stereotypes' button was exactly what I was searching for.

Hi

In a MDSD-project I work with EA as the modelling tool, because UML Profiles are supported.

It would bee a great help, if the elements in the toolbox of a profile could  be sorted. The alphabetical sorting in Resource View has no influence sequencing of the entries in toolbox (bug?).

My proposal: Same order as in project tree of UML profile definition. An individual sequence could be defined.

Thank you.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: .NET 2.0 Features in UML

Hi yura

Generics could be modeled as TemplateClasses.
The usage of generics are implementations expressed with bindings.

Suggestions and Requests / AI Add-In Method for starting property window
« on: September 18, 2004, 09:33:48 pm »
Hi  :)

It would be great for me if there is an Add-In method fired when the user opens the property window.

This method should have the following signature:

EA_PropertyOpen(Repository As EA.Repository, ElementId as Integer) As Boolean;

ElementId --> selected Element.

Return value:
True: --> I handled showing a property window
False: --> no window was shown. Pleas open standard property window of EA.

So I can implement a property window of my own.

That would be great.

Thanx in advance.

Suggestions and Requests / Database Model for ORACLE
« on: October 20, 2003, 01:31:56 am »
Hi everybody

I'm working with EA for modelling DB schemas in ORACLE does anybody know how to add schema names in DDL code?

Where do I use it.
When referencing tables in other schemas there should be an prefix with the schema name.

By the way.
How do you think about DDL generation in EA?

Kind regards
Ulrich

It would be nice to be able to drag an association end to change it.

General Board / Re: Collaboration occurrence

Many thanks !!   :)

The key was, --> Collaboration occurence is an instance of a collaboration.

Would be great, if this could be added to the help.

The only diagramm with collaboration occurence I found in help of EA was "Composite Structure Diagramm" ???

But I didn't find any explanation how to create a collaboration occurence.

With CO I mean nearly the same as collaboration. Not the dependency with the stereotype <<occurence>>.

Any help is welcome.

Thanx, Erny

General Board / Collaboration occurrence
« on: April 25, 2005, 11:03:57 pm »
Hi NG

I bought a book (in german "UML 2.0 Das umfassende Handbuch" from Christoph Kecher) including examples modelled with EA. There I've seen a collaboration diagram with a collaboration occurrence.

How can I create a collaboration occurence in EA. I havn't found any possibility to create a CO directly or indirectly.

Many thanks
Erny

Another question ....

... how can I define an attribute of a specific type?

All attributes are of type string.

Thanx, Erny

Hi Thomas

An association can be defined by using an "Association" as Metaclass. Stereotypes as with normal classes.

Hi

I tried to find out how EA and profiles work.
Here are my results.

For defining a profile you use basical two elements.
1. <<Metaclass>> for defining what element type you like to create later in your model.
2. <<Stereotype>> for defining what stereotype the element should have.

Now you can connect 0..* stereotypes to 1 metaclass with the "Extension" relationship. But you can also connect 0..* metaclasses with 1 stereotype. Each "Extension" relationship will create one entry in UML profile.
If you inherit one stereotype from another then you will get the same entries in the profile for this stereotype like the base stereotype.

The relations <<appl>> and <<tagged value>> are not used (as far as I know).

These are my experiences.

Cheers, Erny

Hi

I'm also in the situation of creating my own profile and I have some questions about creating profiles, too.

1. How can I define an association/aggregation/composition in my profile?
2. How can I define attribute definition for creating attributes in a class of a predefined type?

Does anyone have a tutorial with more information?
I would help to complete it with owne experiences.

Thanx.

Erny
