All those who need a one off import of RequisitePro data (not round trip) and have the same issue below, make yourselves known.

I have tried to import a large set of requirements, business rules and use case texts from CSV export files. This has been partly successful however I have been unable to keep the hierarchy of links for tracability.
Has anyone cracked this or can advise how best to proceed.

Would Sparx Systems be willing to provide the required functionality if there are a fare number of users with this issue/request?

TIA

General Board / SCRUM Product Backlog/User Stories
« on: September 26, 2007, 11:39:45 am »
Hi,

Has anyone using EA to record User Stories, if so do you use the Note or Requirement element with a tagged value to hold the story point value?

Also how have you managed to prioritize the Product Backlog (to allow for the shuffle of items as priorities change from month to month), so the SCRUM Team moves the highest priority items to the Sprint Backlog?

TIA

General Board / Shape scripts - lock subshape image size
« on: February 06, 2007, 04:03:39 am »
I have created a shape script for a stereotyped guielement with two subshape images.
The first subshape image will select one of three images with differing background colour depending on what keywords parameter is entered (White - for Mandatory; Light Grey - for Optional; Dark Grey - for Read Only). (see additional note below) The second subshape image will select one of two images of a button (Edit; View) which will default to Edit but change to View if the keywords parameter is "Read Only".

What I would ideally like is to prevent the button image from being distorted when the user resized this stereotyped guielement. Is there a way to lock the height and width of one of the subshapes and still allow the other image(s) in the guielement to be resized (both in height and width)?

TIA

David

Additional Note:
I have had to use three images of a text entry feild (with different background colours) because it has a border to make is look sunken on screen (Client specific requirement). This is simply because I do not know how to script a sunken border to a rectangle. Ideally I would have liked to use a rectangle (with a sunken style border) so I can also include default alphanumeric data. If anyone knows how to do this please advise any tips/suggestions.

General Board / GUIElement Grid
« on: January 21, 2005, 09:03:13 am »
I am currently creating prototype screens using the items in the Custom list.

I need to include a grid UI Control but there isn't a stereotype "Grid"?

Does someone know if Grid is available or would I have to create a new GUIElement type Grid and attach an image file that contains a grid?

I'm using EA version 4.50 Build 740

TIA

General Board / UI Control Stereotype as <<tab>>
« on: August 13, 2004, 01:25:22 am »
Hi,

How do you display multiple tabs in a screen?

I have tried to set a UI control with a stereotype of <<tab>> but this is shown with a vertical scroll bar.

If I need multiple tabs, must I use a display screen for each tab?

Thinking about this, how do I display the IU controls for more than one tab?

TIA

General Board / Linking UI control to Table column/attribute
« on: August 12, 2004, 01:03:15 am »
Hi,

Is there a way of linking a UI control to a column/attribute in a Table?

While building prototype screens (to extend an existing system), I would like to be able to link each UI control to an existing database field.

General Board / User Interface Prototype Form Controls
« on: March 24, 2004, 01:09:08 am »
Is there a way to add new stereotype UI Controls that display the image of a specially created Form Control?

I would like to create User Interface diagrams that look similar to the those in my final UI form. Most of the images can be built up of existing EA stereotypes, but some require two i.e. Both my Address or LongText form controls would need both a textbox and command button. Also my CalanderDate form control is a different image to the standard EA date stereotype.

TIA.

Bugs and Issues / Precision's value must be between 0 and 8!
« on: February 14, 2008, 07:39:22 am »
Hi,

I have successfully imported an Informix DB schema from ODBC. However I received the above message when I try to save text in the Notes area for a Column/Attribute with a datatype DECIMAL. The existing Precision = 12 and the Scale = 2, so why must this be altered ???

Is this a known issue, does anyone have a workaround :(

TIA

David
