General Board / Hidden relationships
« on: November 15, 2002, 04:14:36 am »
I'm using Corporate trial version, release 577.

We have build a number of system views on Component diagrams (dragging & dropping h/w and s/w items from Deployment packages)

To reduce clutter on the diagrams I use the diagram level "set visible relations" feature to turn off a number of the relationships.  However, whenever I then drag another Node onto the diagram the last lot of 'hiding' of relationships that I did reverts and they show again.  Only by pressing 'save' after each lot of hiding can I prevent this happening.

Is this intentional?  If it is, then this might be a useful tip to others....

General Board / Association links
« on: January 23, 2002, 09:38:42 am »
In an object/class diagram, the 'plain' association link now appears with a direction arrow.  It should start with no arrow - during early stages of design when putting together a domain model such directional information simply doesn't exist.

The user manual still shows it as a non-directional plain link - is this a bug?

I've just upgraded to 3.10 build 450 and I'm sure that in previous builds the link had no arrows.

General Board / Documentation
« on: January 16, 2002, 06:08:30 am »
The recent addition of hyperlinks to diagrams is very welcome.  What would also help would be to be able to specify whether the hyperlink is relative or absolute - we have some documentation held on shared drives and some in folders with the models themselves, where it would help to be able to move the folder containing the model and supporting docs together.  This also applies to files linked through object properties.

Again, is there any way a future version can allow these links to be included in rtf exported documentation, this would again allow us to generate a single document which both contains the model and indicates to the reader the locations of the supporting documents.

PS if you right-click on an internal hyperlink in the EAExample to get the properties, you get taken to the link (bug), so I can't see how you've done internal hyperlinks.

PPS sorry for the last message duplicate - finger trouble.

I'm using ver 3.1.0 build 443

General Board / Package export/import
« on: January 16, 2002, 05:55:42 am »
When exporting a package to XML and importing to another model, I find that system boundaries on the diagrams go missing.  Looking in the XML I don't see any entries for them.
Also, any pre/post conditions on Use Case links also go astray, again they don't appear in the XML either.
