Suggestions and Requests / Feature Request:  Print to Clipboard
« on: April 24, 2012, 01:13:10 am »
Hi everyone,

My apologies if this feature already exists in EA -- I couldn't find it searching on 'clipboard', etc.  It would be nice if EA would let us print a diagram directly to clipboard for inclusion in other documents.

Thanks,
Darryl

Hi there,

I would like to request support of the U3 installation standard for Enterprise Architect (See http://www.u3.com/ for more information).

Programs that support this standard can be installed on USB flash drives and used moved from computer to computer without withint having to re-install or re-register the application.  For consultants such as myself, this would be a god-send.

Thanks for EA,

Suggestions and Requests / Link Glossary Entry to Element Note
« on: May 05, 2004, 01:59:33 pm »
Hi all,

I would like to request the ability to associate an Element Note with a Glossary Entry -- such that the content of a Glossary Entry will appear as the value of the Element Note.  Since the package of my UML Models correspond with items or artifacts of a given methodology (ex:  Use-Case Model, Interface Realization, etc.) I would like to define the entry in my Glossary while at the same time using the definition to note the nature of the package.

Thanks,
Darryl

Suggestions and Requests / Ordering of Collaboration Child Diagrams
« on: April 27, 2004, 11:19:01 pm »
Hi there,

I would like to request the following:

1.  Allow for free sorting of child diagrams (and dependent objects) within a Collaboration in Project View.

or

2.  Sort child diagrams (and dependent objects) within a Collaboration primarily by Class/Diagram-Type and then secondarily by Class/Diagram-Name. (NB:  Sorting at present is done only on Name.)

Thanks,

Suggestions and Requests / Increase Maximum Size of Stereotype Field
« on: April 11, 2004, 04:00:17 pm »
Hi all,

I would like to request that the maximum size of the Stereotype field be increased to about 25-30 characters.  At present (v. 4, build 724), the stereotype field has a maximum size of 17 characters.  This is too small to represent the longer-named stereotypes of some industry-wide specifications.  As an example, the following stereotype:

<<EJBSessionHomeInterface>>

cannot be entered into the stereotype field even though it is defined in "Java Specification Request 26 UML Profile for EJB (Java Community Process)."

Thanks.

Suggestions and Requests / Focus Request on Attribute Constraint Tab
« on: March 26, 2004, 08:56:25 am »
Hi there,

I would like to request that on the Constraint tab of the Attributes dialogue box, focus be returned to the 'Constraint' input field when the New button as pressed.  In EA 400 (723), the screen is designed so that the user follows the following sequence of events when adding an attribute constraint:

a.  User enters the constraint in the Constraint input field.
b.  User selects constraint type from the drop-down box.
c.  User presses New and add a new constraint

When the user presses New, focus is still placed on the last element worked with (i.e. the Constraint Type dropdown list.)  This is not intuitive and requires me to be cycle through the tabs or use my mouse to position cursor back on the Constraint input field.

Suggestions and Requests / Indicate Stale Trace Relationships
« on: February 14, 2004, 10:27:46 am »
Hi there,

I've been working with EA's trace features (like the traceability matrix) and wonder if the application can be extended to distinguish stale from current trace relationships.  A trace relationship would be considered stale if either of its terms have been modified since the relationship was last modified or last marked as being current.  A trace relationship would be considered current if neither of its terms have been modified since the relationship was last modified or last marked as being current.  I am not sure what laws would govern how changes to objects involved in chains of traceability relationships would affect the stale/current status of the relationship

Thank you,

Suggestions and Requests / Up/Down Navigation Buttons on Glossary Detail
« on: February 13, 2004, 09:12:39 pm »
Hi there,

I am working quite extensively with the Glossary Detail screen at the moment and I think the dialogue could be greatly enhanced if there were Forward/Backward buttons on it that I could use to navigation through the Glossary definitions.  At present I have to open and close the dialogue each time I want to access a new Glossary item.

Suggestions and Requests / EA Feature Request
« on: April 18, 2003, 12:52:52 pm »
Hi there,

Sorry for submitting another splitter bar request but here goes :-)  I'd think it would be helpful if horizontal and vertical splitter bars were part of the diagram view so that we can work with large diagrams more easily.  Sequence diagrams is a good example here.  Cutting and pasting between the views wouldn't be necessary but simply being able to have two reference points on the view would be very helpful.

Also, I'd like to make a Forum request.  Text associated with navigational icons lie "home", "help", "search", profile", etc. are white with black outline and this makes it very hard to read the words on screens using large resolution (ex:  1600 x 1200).  I'd like to reques that the outline text be replaced with solid-fill text to make readability easier.

Cheers, and thanks for the GREAT product!

General Board / Displaying actor stereotype in use case diagram
« on: March 11, 2011, 04:21:45 am »
Hi there,

How can I display an actor stereotype in a use case diagram?  I have tried enabling it by setting the feature visibility settings of both the diagram and the element all to no avail.  Is there a way to do this without using rectangular notation for the actor?

Thanks,
Darryl

PS:  In my case, I have modeled a 'Time' actor with a 'system' stereotype.

General Board / Wrapping of Methods on Sequence Diagrams
« on: October 23, 2006, 11:49:29 am »
Hi all,

Is there any way to turn off the automatic wrapping of messages (i.e. sequence messages between objects) on sequence diagrams?  This feature takes away from the readability of my diagrams and kicks in when I don't want it to.  Maybe implementing this wrapping feature as an option of the diagram/project would be better?

Thanks,

Hi there,

Is there I way I can configure EA to insert spaces before parentheses in sequence diagram message calls?

General Board / Toolbox Auto-Hide Speed
« on: May 27, 2005, 11:12:04 pm »
Hi there,

Is there a way to increase the speed with which the Toolbox hides/appears when it is in auto-hide mode?

Nice feature, BTW!

General Board / Deleting Project Root Nodes
« on: May 04, 2004, 12:50:11 pm »
Hi there,

Is there a way to delete Project Root Nodes in Project View?  I have created several other Project Root Nodes representing various systems in my distributed application and would now like to tidy up my model by deleting an unused Project Root Node.  I don't seem to be able to find a way of doing this, though.

Thanks for your help.

General Board / Question about diagram notes
« on: March 18, 2004, 09:57:33 pm »
Hi there,

I have created a Use Case that contains a number of basic and alternative scenarios drafted up as paragraphs and entered into EA Architect 4.00 (721).  I now want to create sequence diagrams (one for each scenario) to depict navigation flows between the various UI screens that realize the scenarios.

Is there any way I can introduce diagram notes in the sequence diagrams that pull their textual information from the scenarios entered into the associated use cases?

Thanks,
Darryl Staflund
