General Board / Re: Where is the 'roadmap' information stored.
« on: October 08, 2016, 01:28:59 am »
Hi qwerty, thanks for this.

Not sure if it works with Corporate, but a brief description is found here:

http://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/13.0/model_domains/roadmap_diagram.html

It looks like it's actual in v13, not 12.1

General Board / Where is the 'roadmap' information stored.

Version 12.1 Has a nice new feature to draw roadmap diagrams. However, I cannot see where the roadmap information is stored, either on the object or in the diagram tables. I would like to import this information from our project management system and keep it up to date.

Thanks qwerty, that's more or less where we had landed after looking at the database. It sure would be nice if you could have an option to automatically display derived associations (i.e. if an attribute has a Type of a class that is on the diagram, then draw a line as if the association existed). Then we could make them attributes, order them any way we wanted and still see the relationships visually.

Has anyone found a way to re-order connectors (or more precisely connector ends), like you can with attributes? This is quite critical for things like XML Schema definition where a change in order is breaking change.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Relationship Matrix in Documentation
« on: June 21, 2012, 10:50:31 pm »
If you look in the Resources/Template/Document Templates. You will see it as a choice in the tree, under packages. The functionality feels a bit unfinished to me for a couple of reasons:
1) It only allows you to include realtionship matrices that are built directly from a package.  If you use a model search for the matrix, there is no way to include it (from what I can see).
2) When you do use packages for the matrix, it shows up twice! Once for each package in the Matrix.

To me, it makes more sense to include them in the Model/Resources node (which is where Matrix Profiles show up in the UI anyhow) and perhaps allow a filter of some sort one which ones are displayed.

One other nice feature, or approach, would be to put a RelationshipMatrix stereotype into the tools for the Documentation model.  This object could use TaggedValues to specify either a profile name, or all of the Source/Target/Type, etc. inputs to the Matrix.  You could then you could then just add this to a model document and thus be specific about where you want specific matrices to show up.

You're right, I hadn't looked. we only use HTML.  OK, so I just would like see it added to HTML reports :) I wish the HTML reports had the same kind of features for filtering, etc. that are built into the RTF.

Another nice feature for the Matrix would be 'Any path to' instead of a direct link of a given sort. It would be very useful, for instance, to find all technology functions, or infrastructure services related to a given business process in any way. Clicking on the cell at the intersection might give you something like the traceability window has that shows you how they are related.

It should be possible to include a relationship or gap analysis matrix in HTML or RTF reports.

Suggestions and Requests / Archimate 2.0

Now that the spec. for Archimate 2.0 has been released, it would great to update the Archimate template to support the new extensions.

When will there be some documentation on using code generation with state machines? There seems to be major changes in how state machine code generation works, but the help system still has zero documentation on this feature. Only the legacy stuff is documented.

General Board / Cloud Service and EAP

Does the cloud service support EAP databases? It doesnt seem to, but it supports the feap file, so maybe I'm messing something? If so, how do you register.

General Board / Re: Cloud Services Admin Client

OK, found it. there is a 'Client' folder under EA with a standalone executable. Should probably add a short cut to it in the final install package.

General Board / Cloud Services Admin Client

Trying to use the v11 Beta. I can install the cloud services fine, but the documentation says to connection to the 'Admin Client'. There are no instructions on what this client is or how to connect. Is it a url? A separate program? An EA command?

General Board / Re: Git support
« on: August 18, 2013, 01:48:53 am »
Yes, thanks, I did a little experimenting this morning, and it became clear that the entire concept of locking packages would not suit a DVCS well. It does seem relatively easy to manage the XMI files externally to EA through GIT, though merging would be pretty difficult.

thanks,

Anybody managed to setup EA to use Git as a version control system? I've seen some things that look like an SCC provider for Git, but I thought I'd check to see if somewhat had already done it.

Final release is announced, but I can only see R9 in the download area now.
