Suggestions and Requests / Re: Stereotype display
« on: February 22, 2006, 05:07:23 am »
Hi Thomas

If you open the Diagram Options (double-click on the diagram background) there is an option "Use stereotype icons" that you can uncheck. Would that work for you?

Best regards

Suggestions and Requests / SVG Diagram Export
« on: August 11, 2005, 03:19:46 am »
I would really like if you could add SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) to the available diagram export formats.

SVG is the most suitable format for many applications. Certainly it is the best for showing diagrams on the web (although browsers still need plugins for viewing, but Mozilla is on the way with native support). XSL-FO processors like FOP also prefer SVG.

Andro,
I have had problems with this too, and together with Sparx support I reached the conclusion that it is not currently possible. They promised to think about a solution.

mchiuminatto,
The par fragment doesn't solve the problems that this situation causes with the focus rectangles.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: CVS support
« on: September 16, 2004, 01:08:09 am »
Native CVS support in EA would be a good argument for me to have when trying to convince the people in the software standards group of my organization. CVS is now our (mandatory) company standard version control system.

Open source SCC-to-CVS proxies (Igloo) are not 100% reliable (and not completely open source because the SCC is a Microsoft secret). Besides, SCC is not 1-to-1 compatible with CVS, so it would be nice if EA knew the CVS interface natively.

In short: Add my vote for native support of CVS in EA!

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Probably these are not requests....

1) Select the class and change "Filename" under Class Settings in the Properties docked window (usually on a tab in the lower right of your screen).

2) I don't quite get your question.

3) The Resource View tab is usually right under the Project View tree (upper right of your screen).

I have never tried VS.NET but I still need 2 open diagrams when I construct use case realizations (class diagram and sequence diagram).

Sparks, please note from the length of this thread that this is something we REALLY need.

Everyone else who agrees, please let yourself be known in this thread - just to emphasize how many users see this as an important feature.

Yes, let's have multiple diagrams open at once PLEEEASE!

It doesn't seem to be in the 3.60 beta, does it?

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Multiselect in the Project Browser
« on: December 01, 2003, 03:58:45 am »
Multi-select just for moving elements would be a big improvement for me - even without the more advanced features mentioned above.

Especially, it can be a hassle to sort elements into packages after reverse-engineering a large project for the first time.

You can copy the pictures directly from EA.

In the Diagram menu, select "Save Image to File", then choose WMF as your format.

or

In the Diagram menu select "Save Image to Clipboard". In this case you have to go to Tools - Options - General - Clipboard Format and select Metafile first.

Hope this helps

Just out of curiosity: which browser would you use to view HTML with embedded WMF graphics?

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Better handling of locking/unlocking
« on: November 13, 2003, 02:18:49 am »
The best solution would be if locking and version control were integrated.
Ideally, the whole project would be kept in the version control system, and when someone wants to edit something, he checks it out (and hereby lock it). When he finishes editing, he checks it in (and hereby unlocks it). That is how we work on source code. The model should be no different.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Import From Rose
« on: November 11, 2003, 04:07:25 am »
It should be possible by exporting to XMI from Rational Rose and importing the XMI file in EA.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Suppressing New Links On Class Diagrams
« on: October 06, 2003, 04:18:05 am »
If I understand your question right, this may help you:

1. Right-click on the relationship and select "Hide connector"

or

2. In the menu Diagram, select "Set visible relations".

This doesn't stop new relationships from appearing in all diagrams, though. However, I am not sure that I'd want to have "secret" relationships unless I specifically make them so.

As far as I was aware, it is impossible to have packages (and classes etc.) on diagrams if they are not also in the tree, so I am unable to help you (except to suggest that you look extra carefully to find it!).
