General Board / Re: Reverse engineering C++
« on: March 20, 2002, 04:46:04 am »
Hello,

I was just trying to replication the problem you describe, but have been unable to in the most recent build (475).  There was a diagram reload problem fixed in build 475 that should resolve the problem you have described.

Could you try build 475 and let us know if you have any problems.

regards,

General Board / Re: Copy and paste a message in a Sequence Diagram
« on: March 20, 2002, 04:50:55 am »
Hello,

At this stage EA does not support copying sequence diagram message, however we will add your request to our list of planned future improvements and we will try and include it in a future release of EA.

Hello,

This is a strange problem, not sure why this problem is occurring, but we will look at it in the next few days and hopefully we should have a release that fixes this in the next few weeks.  Thanks for the feedback.

General Board / Re: Simple data modeling questions.
« on: March 13, 2002, 02:52:59 am »
Hello,

To answer your first questions.  You can define the default database product, on the 'Local Options - Code Editors' screen.  But there is no easy way to change the defined database product on multiple existing tables.

To define the default association type on the 'Local Options - Object' screen.

Hope this helps.

General Board / Re: Multi language support
« on: March 08, 2002, 04:13:28 am »
Hello,

Currently this isn't really possible, although we have had some users report that they have successfully converted the string resource file to their language.  Unfortunately at this stage the resource file does not contain every string that is shown to the users, therefore there are sections that appear in English and other sections in the second language.

We plan to rework the entire application to move all strings out to the resource file, that way allowing this file to be quickly replaced for other languages.  At this stage there is no fixed date, but we hope to have this process completed sometime this year.

Hope this information helps.

General Board / Re: UML 1.4
« on: February 16, 2002, 03:45:49 am »
Hello,

We do have plans to support more and more of the features of UML 1.4.  Specifically what parts of 1.4 would you like to see in EA, we have already included some of 1.4 in EA.  We don't to say we support 1.4 until we are 100% compliant.

General Board / Re: Reverse Engineer using a DDL file

Hello,

At the moment the only way to import database information is via an ODBC connection.  However we do have this request on our list of future features and we will be reviewing it at a later date for inclusion into EA.

Thanks for your feedback.

General Board / Re: Designing stored procedures

Hello,

On our website we have a PDF which details how to do database modelling in EA.  In this document it mentions how to model stored procedures.

Hope this helps.

General Board / Re: How to get custom .wmf to appear on diag?
« on: March 02, 2002, 02:19:38 am »
Hello,

The only thing that comes to mind is if the defined stereotype and the one assigned to the object are not the same.   The stereotypes are case sensitive.  Let us know if this doesn't solved the problem.

Hello,

Both of your points are relatively straight forward to implement, we will look at including them in a future version.

General Board / Re: Reimport versus synchronizing
« on: March 01, 2002, 05:03:47 am »
Hello,

The code generation side has an option to achieve what I think you are after.  If you bring up the 'Generate Code' screen for an individual class and click on the 'Advanced' button, now make sure the 'Replace (overwrite) existing source file' is selected.  The next time you generate the code the existing source code is completely overwritten.

As for reimport then is no such option, we will look at including one in a future version.  Thanks for the feedback.

« on: February 18, 2002, 03:09:47 am »
This message was incorrect posted to the 'Future Plans' board.  It was originally posted on the 13-Feb-02 6:34pm by sjg0526.

Any plans to provide support for Visual Foxpro?  I know many in the development community who would love this.  :)

Hello,

What you have suggested should not be too hard to implement.  We will investigate what would be required to include this feature, and determine when we could incorporate it into a future version of Enterprise Architect.  Thanks for the feedback.

General Board / Re: Colaboration Diagram
« on: February 11, 2002, 02:57:59 am »
Hello,

Currently EA does support collaboration diagrams (see EAExample.eap which is distributed with the EA setup file, goto View->Dynamic View->Collaboration).  However you will need to create an analysis diagram and then follow the instructions in the help file, see 'collaboration' in the help file's index.  Hope this helps.

Hello,

As yet we haven't had a detailed look at all of the UML 1.4 spec., we hope to be do this in the first half of this year.   We will be including more and more of the UML 1.4 additions as time goes on - if you would like to suggest a priority based on your needs, then we will consider them.
