Is there a reason why you can't or don't want to use the API?

I think I'd qualify Simons advice. If you are creating a small (less than 10 diagrams) process mode,l then fine put everything in a single folder. If however you are documenting the processes for a medium to large business, you should think about using a Process Classification Framework (PCF) (see APQC for example) and creating a folder structure based on the PFC. I'd also recommend that you create a separate folder(s) for any elements that are reused across your model.
Absolutely, I wouldn't recommend to put every process in the same package.  Equally, when managing re-useable/global elements1 you want to make sure that you can find them. There are multiple strategies for how to split everything into packages. Personally, I would be trying to classify by different business areas and then use the model views to provide virtual folders for each type. (eg. Partners, Resources, Messages)

1 Pools, Lanes, Events etc are not re-useable. If in doubt, drop something onto a diagram inside a process. If EA doesn't move it out to the package level it probably isn't meant to be re-useable.

General Board / Re: Plugin of Script?
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:38:12 am »
In order to speed up my everyday work I need to automate (put on a shortcut key)
- right-click on an element / Advanced /  Use Circle Notation (preferably for the set of selected elements)
Unfortunately, neither add-ins or scripting can specify keyboard shortcuts, and I'm reasonably confident that command isn't available in the keyboard shortcut configuration dialog. Worse, neither scripting or an add-in will reduce the number of clicks clicks. (Right click / Scripts /  Your script) OR (Right click / Add-ins / Your add-in / Command) OR (Extensions Ribbon | Your add-in / Command)

Maybe what you need is a Template Package.

eg. If you always do this for Interfaces, create a template package, drop an interface onto the diagram and set it to use Circle Notation. From that point on, all interfaces you create will automatically have circle notation applied.

It's possible to modify the PHP directly. Tell any halfway competent web developer what you need done and it shouldn't be hard.

You'll need to use the API provided to save that image.

Now I added under UML Types/Tagged Value Types a tag with name SfSTime having a Detail Type=Time;.

In my stereotype definition I tried to use that by:
Initial Value = SfSTime
Initial Value = <SfSTime>
Type= SfSTime
Unfortunately, that won't work. You can't use the tagged value definitions as a type to be specified by other tagged value definitions.

You need to define a tagged value type with the name matching the name of the desired tagged value,  and add an attribute with that name to your stereotype.

Bugs and Issues / Re: Test, Issue, Defect,Ö Requirement dependencies
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:21:13 am »
So it seems to me that Test, Issue, Defect is regarded as a kind of Requirement by EA.
I think there's a conceptual inheritance between these types to give them all the same behavior, basic rendering etc.

Just thought I'd chip in on why that workaround works.

EA saves a column layout associated with each search. That includes column order, visibility, widths and sort settings. As soon as the number of columns changes that whole layout is invalidated.

The second level is the process as defined in the BPMN specification. The nested diagram and contents are where you define how that process is performed. The top level is just a container required by the EA model pattern architecture. Generally speaking I would have multiple processes in one package. It would also generally hold the global types that are used by those processes.

Yes, there is now an alternative.

Use the Pro Cloud Server, which provides a search function inside the web view.

Bugs and Issues / Re: EA clear the file. Now 's empty 0Ko

To clarify VKN's response.

We currently know of only one scenario that can cause a 0 byte eap file. That is, the Windows Shell 'New' command creates an empty file without asking Enterprise Architect to fill it.

Unfortunately, by definition, the presence of a 0 byte file delivers no information about why it is 0 bytes. If you describe your processes that may suggest additional possibilities for the cause.

If the item doesn't appear in the menus at all, look at the Menu Set

General Board / Re: Sparx CLOUD (NOT PRO) and IIS
« on: October 05, 2017, 08:35:24 am »
Double check the configuration for IIS to reference the cloud service (SparxCloudLink.sseap). My early morning memory tells me that you can (wrongly) get that error message when that link is broken.

I used to have an aphorism, "it actually takes more effort to make things inconsistent that to make them consistent..."
Of course, that's not necessarily true. It takes more effort during the conceptual, planning and design stages. Effort that may be earned back during implementation and maintenance. Doing the same when retrofitting new concepts into something that is much harder again, and will increase effort at all levels. Including end user adoption.

Diagrams, searches, matrices, package lists, gantt charts, roadmaps, kanban, even the project browser and property dialogs are all examples of views of the model. Conceptually, there are views that you want to parameterize differently and save/load them as needed. There are views that need to respond to the user actions and views that should be constant. There are also cases where different users may need/want to see something different when looking at the same view.

Bugs and Issues / Re: Installing EA on Wine with Oracle ODBC support

I'd recommend installing a cloud server and connecting all clients through that. Then you don't need to set-up the Oracle driver on client machines at all.
