General Board / Re: Sequence Diagram Copy/Paste
« on: April 22, 2002, 06:21:41 am »
I followed your instructions carefully and some sequence diagrams copied perfectly and others were bad (that is, successful diagrams were always successful and the bad ones were always bad).  I haven't determined what the deciding factor is, I just have to try and copy to see if the diagram will copy correctly.

General Board / Sequence Diagram Copy/Paste
« on: April 19, 2002, 12:58:04 pm »
When I copy a sequence diagram to the clipboard then paste (either shallow or deep) the result is basically garbage (various sequence elements unrelated to what I copied).  Is there a known problem or am I missing something?  I am using the latest build (482).

Thanks,
Dave

General Board / Re: problems with synchronizing model from source
« on: February 12, 2002, 05:09:31 am »
I'm also having problems with synchronization.  I imported several .h files from one directory a while ago.  Now those same .h files (slightly changed inside hence the need to synchronize) are in another directory and I can't for the life of me figure out how to synchronize with the .h files in that new directory.  I have a lot of information in my EA class objects that I can't afford to re-enter by importing anew from the new directory.  The only way I can synchronize these updated .h files is to copy them to the "original import" directory but this quickly gets confusing (and a harder sell to other developers here who are curious about EA).  How do I tell the EA class object to synchronize from a different directory or how do I break the link to the original directory?  I tried setting the path in the Files tab but that had no effect.  This is driving me mad.

General Board / Re: Aggregation relationship

I also am surprised this problem still exists.  If I want to generate code I have to temporarily reverse direction of all aggragate relationships.  This is more than a pain when using even a moderately complicated diagram.  I have messed up too many diagrams this way so I currently do not use EA to generate much code.

Still, EA is an excellent tool.

General Board / Package Sorting
« on: December 13, 2001, 01:00:33 pm »
I have hundreds of requirement entities in a package and they are out of sequence.  Sort doesn't seem to do anything (for any package).  What does sort do?  The only thing I can think of is to manually move up/down (bad enough, but with many entries, even one movement up takes seconds.  Am I missing something basic?

Thanks
