Suggestions and Requests / Re: Request: Undo/Redo enhance!

Hrrrrrump........gently enters the scence.  All the above said, and interesting as it is, couldn't we just turn off the auto-saving in EA.  I'd like to control when I save.

Suggestions and Requests / EA 4 Beta
« on: February 17, 2004, 04:28:05 am »
Just downloaded the beta for 4.0 and it looks great.  The multiple diagrams are pure heaven, a knockout feature for sure.

How about being able to close a tab using middle-click, like Mozilla/NetCaptor does.  This would make it even better :)

You can also copy by dragging from the project browser onto a diagram element.  Well useful :)

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Tabbed MDI Windows for Diagrams

This would be a killer feature to add.  Please, please can we have it as soon as possible.

I use the html output to get around this sometimes, but generally I resort to printing out diagrams and adding a few more piles to my desk.  Sometimes using Alt+left/right arrow can help - until I change the browse history!

Absolutely - this would be a great addition.  Please can we have it?

Suggestions and Requests / Dialog Behaviour
« on: November 17, 2003, 04:34:51 am »
The Operations and Attributes dialogs allow you to select other classes and see their attributes/operations without closing the dialog.  The Class Properties dialog does not do this........it would be neat if it did :)

Suggestions and Requests / Positioning Class Self-Associations
« on: November 05, 2003, 03:54:11 am »
It would be nice to be able to position self-associations in class diagrams to have them appear not jsut on the right of the class.  To be able to set their start and end points and resize the lines would be good too :)

Hi Tjerk

I didn't know that.....that will be very useful!  :)

Thanks

Suggestions and Requests / Link Button in UML Elements Toolbar
« on: October 17, 2003, 04:47:50 am »
It would be nice if the Link button/menu in the UML Elements toolbar remembered the last selected link type and that this could be selected by just clicking the button.  (The button currently does nothing.)

Suggestions and Requests / Association Options
« on: October 17, 2003, 04:44:53 am »
It would be nice to be able to configure generalisations to be 'tree style' by default.  It would also be nice to be able to configure defaults for other relationships (direct, custom, etc.).

Suggestions and Requests / Saving User Layouts
« on: October 17, 2003, 03:39:16 am »
How about adding a confirmation dialog if saving a user layout will overwrite an existing layout?  (Guess who clicked save instead of load?  :'( )

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Suppressing New Links On Class Diagrams

The good folks at Sparx have jsut added a feature to allow the hiding of an association in 'all other diagrams' to the association's right-cllick menu.   :)

Hi Mikkel, I would not want to have 'secret' associations either!  I am aware of both of the options you mentioned, but they do not do the job.  Let's say you have two classes which are both on two diagrams.  One diagram shows, say, an overview of your system while the other shows a more detailed view of some part of the system.  You are working in the detailed view and add a new association between the classes.  The new association will appear on the overview diagram.  You have to remember to go the the overview and hide the association.  This is a pain to have to do - indeed, I never remember to do it!  The behaviour that Phil describes above would solve the problem.

Suggestions and Requests / Suppressing New Links On Class Diagrams

It would be nice to be able to have an option to suppress the showing of links between classes which are not made in the diagram itself.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: EA Add-On To VS.NET
« on: October 08, 2003, 02:02:36 am »
It would be fantastic to have EA integrated into VS.NET.

In the latest post in the 'Future Plans' forum they mention:

"Integration with other coding environments - notably Visual Studio.NET
"

So, it looks like it's in the pipeline.....I can't wait  ;D
