Suggestions and Requests / Re: element tasks properties
« on: December 08, 2004, 08:05:45 am »
I think the two are closely related, let's keep them together (and hope we can get them soon).

Would it make sense for me to move that suggestion of mine to a separate thread/topic, just to keep the first request neat, tidy, focused, condensed, etc.?

Hi Marcello,

I agree. Maybe we should also mention CJ's suggestion:

I would like to see the implementation of tasks (and all other items in the System and Maintenance tabs/workspaces) converted to elements (just like the requirement and change elements).

That definitely makes sense and would make usage of the tasks much more efficient!

Thanks,
Bruno

Hi Marcello,

it sounds here more like the Cumbia de los muertes :-) We should probably submit it to Sparx as a feature request.

Three, if you count me in :-)

I would also like the same on the "Issue" elements.

Hi Michael,

the glossary is indeed model specific, if by a model you mean an EAP file or a DBMS repository. Or do you mean something else?

Thanks,
Bruno

Hi Colin,

as far as Access import goes, you can open an .EAP file in Access directly as it is nothing but an MS Access database with extension changed from MDB to EAP.
Also, CSV files can be imported to Access.

Hope this helps,
Bruno

Very nice touch, I love it.
However, the color coding seems to be hardcoded for the pre-defined statuses, is there any way how to attach particular colours to the statuses we add ourselves? For example if we translate the statuses to another language, but we would still like to display the appropriate colour bar?

Thanks,
Bruno

go to menu View > Visual Layouts > Default Layout.

Hope this helps!

Suggestions and Requests / Re: JBuilder integration
« on: February 22, 2005, 05:25:37 am »
Hi Naresh,

I assume you are using JBuilder for Java development. Enterprise Architect has support for both forward- and reverse-engineering of Java code, you certainly can model your application in EA, then generate the Java code and simply open it in JBuilder. You can also reverse-engineer whatever Java code you have already built, EA can also keep your code and your model (relatively) in sync.

Hope this helps!

And the whole manual :-)

Hi,

you can download the user manual in PDF format from the same page you download EA from (in the Registered Users section). You better have a lot of paper though! :-)

Hope this helps!

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Edit properties of multiple elements.
« on: February 09, 2005, 05:56:24 am »
Hi Thomas,

Perhaps we should request a Latin version of EA? :-)

But: procurator (not procuratore) means "an agent"... I think it fits well. Perhaps we could agree on "praefectus" then? :-)
Interesting site... but heavily military-oriented and not necessarily error free...

Hi Bruno,
what would we do without internet?

PROCURATORE   A buyer/procurer of gladiators or Tiro (trainee) gladiators for Ludus Gladiatorium (school)

AFAIK Clouseu is more kind of
LICTOR - LICTORIS   Attendent/s or bodyguard/s of a magistrate;  one of which would carry the fasces as the symbol of the magistrates authority.

"Ceterum censeo procuratoris Clouseau esse deletum"? :-)

So, not the Cato who had the job of attacking Inspector Clouseau at unexpected moments ... right, glad that's cleared up.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Relationship matrix irks
« on: January 21, 2005, 07:54:45 am »
Hi Thomas,

I am on board. This would help a lot.

I would much like being able to navigate to an element from anywhere the element's name is displayed (e.g. the darned Locks window :-) )

Bruno

Hi Bruno,
my request for navigation in the relationship matrix is (a bit hidden) in above post...
