Suggestions and Requests / Re: Relationship Matrix in Documentation
« on: June 11, 2012, 07:37:37 pm »
Hi,

Have you checked 9.33 onwards - i thought the option to print elements of a relationship matrix was added for RTF reports ?

An Alternative here is BPMN v2 XML. If your process engine supports BPMN v2 then you can use Sparx v9.x BPMN v2 XML import/export.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Adding HTML Tooltips to HTML Reports
« on: January 13, 2012, 04:29:57 am »
I've had a good look at this now - and despite my lack of html/css/javascript skills i'm pretty certain that this can't be done without a change to the actual html generation within Sparx...it looks like the #IMAGE# tag not only adds the image, but also adds a <map> section to the html with associated <area> code this is where i'd add onmouseover code to display a tooltip containing the notes of the associated model element - but i think only Sparx could do this ?

Jon.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the input. yep your right of course. i derived the sql by scanning the ddl used to create the ea model for occurances of object_id - appreciate that without your inpt i'd probably end up doing more harm than good...hence the request for this to be added as a feature - for those of us managing large models/teams it would be gold dust!

Thanks again,

Jon.

Um. I'd still like to request it as a new feature. It seems to me that something like the following sql should work...(in this example to merge object_id 164 into 156)

begin
delete from t_object where object_id = 164;
update t_diagramobjects set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_attribute set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_attributeconstraints set object_id = 156 where object_id =164;
update t_method set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectconstraint set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objecteffort set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectfiles set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectmetrics set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectproblems set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectproperties set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectrequires set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectresource set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectrisks set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objectscenarios set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objecttests set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_objecttrx set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;
update t_operation set object_id = 156 where object_id = 164;

update t_connector set start_object_id = 156 where start_object_id = 164;
update t_connector set end_object_id = 156 where end_object_id = 164;
commit;

Suggestions and Requests / Merging Elements
« on: August 26, 2011, 06:27:21 pm »
Hi,

Coud i request a feature - the ability to merge two or more elements into a single element. I provide governance around models and often find on global projects that individuals wil create duplicate elements in different parts of a model - say the same Component under different packages - EA lacks a feature to merge these into a single component. It would be nice if regular expersions could be used to find/match elements for merging and if one of the elements could be picked as the target.

Thanks,

Jon.

- IIS is optional.
- the model name is the name at the end of your connection string defined in the cloud service client.

Hi,

To a certain extent yes. You create you own Web Style Template and edit the appropriate templates. So for example to hide specific tagged values you would edit the Tagged Value Item template, you could check the #PROPERTY# field for example and conditionally include as required.

« on: July 29, 2015, 03:32:08 am »
Hi,

Cloud service is available with engineering, corporate and ultimate editions I think for free... not sure about personal, desktop...

RAS is not a feature of the Cloud Service, you need to enable separately. Its useful for sharing as its name suggests reusable assets - i.e. libraries/taxonomies of elements. Its useful in my mind if you have a set of elements that you want to reuse across multiple models. If however you only have one model RAS is not going to help.

Document templates are stored in the repository, so if you have a shared DBMS repository - the templates will be available to all.

Create a fragment with custom sql that uses the #OBJECTID#. If the SQL returns no data the fragment body will not be included in your report.

I believe you can use a fragment to achieve conditional inclusion of text and a field value.

General Board / Re: Search SQL Query - Composite Diagram
« on: July 23, 2015, 12:55:22 am »
Hi,

The tables to look at are t_object, t_diagramobjects, t_diagram and t_connector.

All elements on a given t_diagram can be found by joining

t_diagram.diagram_id = t_diagramobjects.diagram_id
and t_object.object_id = t_diagramobjects.object_id

If a t_object has a composite its ntype = 8 and pdata1 is the t_diagram.diagram_id of the composite diagram.

t_connector.start_object_id and t_connector.end_object_id join to t_object.object_id

Hope that helps.

Hi,

Look at the guides on Importing Source code. Then look at the guides on generating sequence diagrams from a class model.
