Yes I gget it :(
We desided for now to give it up and use normal EA standard for it.

Suggestions and Requests / Synchronisation by template
« on: January 19, 2005, 12:59:10 am »
We work within nemaspaces in CPP file too. the problem is that when we generate a new method in EA it appends method at the end of file , instead of inside corresponding namesapce.
I havn't found how to change it through code generation templates, you can change there maybe for 1st time code generation, but not for addings.
   any ideas?

answer (by simonm):
At the moment it's not possible...
I guess you'll just need to manually move the methods EA creates into the right namespace.

is it possible to make some attribute for each class marking that file was created through EA so it will add code using generation templates rules?

any way, methods are updated fine in header file, can't some similar technique be used here too?

I see many unanswered tpopics in this forum.

a suggest can be accepted for long run, short run or rejected and I assume it takes some time to deside this things but I think you should answer all.

Suggestions and Requests / Sequnce diagram usability
« on: January 09, 2005, 11:50:43 pm »
I've been trying the sequence diagram to check it.
I've discovered what seems to be some usability problems (at least in comparison to other CASE tools I've used):

1) After placing an element in diagram for the 1st time - no matter where you moved it it will apear in documantation in the same place.
2) Messages can not be drop on life line in their chronological orther but from top-to-top and then placed, this is very tedius.
3) Objects can only be added on top or under other objects , it is problematic if I want to show that they were only created ater (though it is no critical issue).

This problems make the ramp-up for a beginer harder,
and when you try to convince people to use it, it turns to an obstacle.

Suggestions and Requests / MACRO recognission
« on: January 09, 2005, 10:42:34 pm »
I have big project with  a lot of macros.
I would like to reverse engineer this projects so I can keep their modeling and docs up-to-date.

Though macros have a clear naming convention in all my projects (*_API) the only way to recognized them for EA is enering them one by one, which is hardly realistic in a projects with 500 classes libs.

it would be very helpfull if I could add the language macros list somthing like "*_API" and it would ercognise all macros alone.

Is it something dificult to aplly?

Thanks for the help!

I have developed many plug ins for EA a couple of years ago, I know how to do those things. The issue is that I wanted a stereotype with the same look and behavior as "table" stereotype.  Not to copy stereotypes table (I guess I did a poor job explaining my self...)

It won't work. It seems the "Table" stereotype is dealt with hard codded in EA. When opening the table there was nothing special I could relay on to copy it and have my new stereotype be a clone of it.

Or I could manipulate it.

Is there a way to create a stereotype based no an existing one?
I would like to duplicate the table stereotype for other uses.
