General Board / Re: 14 RC - Still hass DPI issues

I have to coin in. My experience with Sparx "bug fixing attitude" is just the same. I'm quite disillusioned.

Long time no post from skiwi. Looks like he gave up :-/

Now that the cause is know a fix *should* be around the corner...

The last time I checked (V12) it was only the syntax of the OCL being checked. It might have extended in recent versions (13.5 or 14) but I doubt that. You might check the latest release notes.

Well, not really. There is no real need for that. It's just that EA adds a few API calls which only get relevant in specific areas. And my book is  a general approach to EA's API which has not changed. Anyhow, every now and then I try to update the API description in the book with my own experience on their usage (which quite often is not that positive).

Yes, definitely useful information. Will add that to the next book release...

Funny. Just five minutes ago I also wondered about the difference in the bug number.

Bugs and Issues / Re: Log file from XMI import

I imported the XMI with ArgoUML and that immediately showed where the culprit with my XMI was. No (further) comment.

FQN = Fully Qualified Name

The Config window lists only manually entered stereotypes. MDG stereotypes are completely held in EA's memory. Think about using EA security to stop users adding arbitrary stereotypes.

q.

Manually. Or via scripting. EA has no MDG version control to clean things up. You need to look into all StereotypeEx properties (to get the FQN) and decide what to do.

You can not add them the normal way to a MDG. IIRC there's a way to do that manually, but I can't remember how to. If you add the TV in the Defaults of the TV window they are also accepted.

General Board / Re: Importing model from Rhapsody to EA
« on: April 18, 2018, 06:57:02 pm »
It's not all to count on Sparx. OMG's XMI specification is, so to say, rather sloppy. Sparx and IBM are both part of OMG. And both took part in designing XMI. (Hmm, what about my first argument?) Now, a vendor has no great interest in his models to be used as source for other tools since people might migrate. So they use features in XMI that only they can use.

When you use the quick linker, EA offers 6 different relations. Does none of them work for you?

q.

14
Where would that oder be important? I guess in the toolbox? If so (IIRC) EA does not offer an ordering from the MDG export (since IIRC I tried that once and could not figure it out).

Go and read what the Pareto principle is, smarty. It has absolutely nothing to do with correctness.
