This has been broken for quite a while. I'm not sure if any recent EA version has a fix for that. Try the latest. Good luck.

Now you have 2 new lines instead of one.

*NIX and M$DOS came up with 2 different ways to separate lines: CR (code 13) and LF (code 10) or LF and CR. I never remember which variant is used where, but still both insist on theirs being the only correct way. Now when exchanging files between both worlds you either need smart editors (the ones I use come up with a warning when opening an "unusual formatted" file) or you have to programmatically change it. So it should rather be something like
Code: [Select]
newNotes= Replace(newNotes,chr(10)+chr(13),VbCrLf)
(not used to VB but the + is meant as string concatenation)

Just a guess: EA uses a proprietary format for notes. IIRC it's partially HTML. Try changing the CR to an &-format or try using the Repository.GetFieldFromFormat to convert the text first.

That's probably not an EA bug, I guess?

Actually, it usually means that's what you asked for. It's not intrinsically wrong so there's no reason for EA to report it as an error.

You can make a navigation diagram with the most important folders. Then make this diagram the model default: Diagram/Advances/Model Default (at least in ribbon-less versions).

The culprit is
Code: [Select]
Repository.Execute("UPDATE t_diagram set ...");
theDiagram.Update();

The Update undoes the previous Execute. Swap both and you should be done.

I remember this (long time ago) with a MySQL where the ODBC was misconfigured. In your case you should just send a bug report/context Sparx via mail.

That means: you did something wrong. Unfortunately A does not tell you what  >:( >:( >:( So you are left to try and error. What I do is: a) wait a day and have enough sleep. b) check each details by comparing it to a working part. c) re-generating everything by exporting files and running the creation wizard (what a wizard, more the sorcerer's apprentice).

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Re: EA Integration without Add In
« on: September 19, 2018, 06:48:20 am »
Running EA as service is almost impossible (though there a rumors that LieberLieber has some kind of solution). What you can do is to go directly to the database which should be reasonable with what I read from the short description. However, bypassing the API this way requires profound knowledge of what happens when doing so.

Yes. Extend the add-in to check for the user.

Just report a bug. V14 seems to have enough for any user.

Are you using V14? For me it failed with a (former) V14 for some other OMG meta modesl but V12 imported them without issues.

There's probably no way. That part can not be configured. You might send a feature request, but I doubt you can hold your breath long enough.

Bugs and Issues / Re: EA repository performance on Oracle db
« on: September 15, 2018, 01:29:58 am »
I never used Oracle, but the forum is full of complaints when using EA and Oracle. People tend to switch to any other RDBMS which solves their performance issues.
