General Board / Re: how to document EA model in two languages
« on: November 08, 2017, 10:00:42 pm »
I would recommend to stay in one language. If you need a translation create a document and have it translated. Why? If you keep each text in two languages you are always in doubt which of two translations is correct. If someone edits a note and is only fluent in one language he will only update one part of the notes. Or even worse he will mess up the other part. So: if your modelers are fluent in both languages you can do as Geert suggests (I did something similar in the past). But if not, you should stay in one common language for the model. There are trade-offs in both ways.

No, no. They are actually two persons. Dr. Uffe and Mr. Hyde.

Then I guess it will create an AND if both are required. But what if one is required and the other not? Does it create EVENTUALLY?

I'd just use a SQL to build the query. Most likely multiple TVs are not supported since the QB does not have logical operators to combine them. Adding for example the Element Name more than once will make the query not work (I guess it will create a AND in the SQL, but of course you'd expect an OR here; except when using wildcards you might want an AND). As mentioned, Sparx does not have a QA (like I would define a QA). There's so much useless not working stuff in that single product. But then, there's alway a way around. Well, ...

General Board / Re: Swimlines attribute
« on: November 06, 2017, 03:23:23 am »
Instead of the swimlanes (which anyway have no defined semantics) create a pool (from activities) or a boundary which allow thicker lines.

There's a trick to create arbitrary lines by connecting two boundaries with an association and make the boundaries invisible by assigning an alternate image with a tiny dot.

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Re: Requirements and Scenarios

The table t_objectscenarios does not have a time stamp (and it never had one). Scenario changes don't seem to be audited (though I'm not too familiar with auditing). You might send a feature request or implement your own auditing (good luck with that). Or you wait a few days for someone more enlightened than me to answer your question :-)

Use EAPackage.Element.TaggedValues instead.

Looks like one of the threads I had in mind. Feel free to send a feature request (Support section down this page).

It's the IsID property (when set to True).

There are quite a number of thread regarding this. IIRC you can't do what you want with MDG. Try a search, though.

That does not count a bug report. Use the link down this page in the Support section.

Oops, yes :-?

I guess if you report that as bug you get an explanation why they do that :-/

No. Just draw a class diagram and you will see. Btw. this kind of questions is better asked on StackOverflow where you can include pictures in a post without effort.

Look into the UML 2.5 spec with the references mentioned above. It's sort of a historic deviation but not completely wrong. The values in the curly brackets are properties which are partially pre-defined per UML and partially seem to come from historic UML versions.
