General Board / Re: Logical datatypes - how to have 1 model for N

Datatype mapping between DBMS's is not currently available, but is on our list to include in a future release of EA. :)

General Board / Re: Stored Procedure Parameters
« on: June 19, 2003, 04:47:02 pm »
Improvements to database support (DDL import/export) will be rolled out from time to time. The next release should include generation of SQL Server table and column comments using the sp_addextendedproperty syntax, among other things.

Here's a workaround for generating non_parameter stored procedures...

1. Add a table(s) to a package, and select a target database.
2. Add an operation and give it the name of the stored procedure.
3. Select 'proc' from the stereotype combo.
4. Put the body of the procedure in the Notes section of the dialog. Save.
5. Right click on the package and select Code Engineering->Generate DDL.
6. Check 'Create Primary/Foreign Key Constraints' and 'Generate Stored Procedures'.
7. Generate the procedures.

We are developing generation of stored procedures with non-column parameters for a future release.

General Board / Re: Modelling Oracle Stored Procedures
« on: June 18, 2003, 08:55:42 pm »
Stored procedures are currently only generated when attached to a table.
However, you can add stored procedures to a package with the following steps...

Hope this helps.

Bugs and Issues / Re: EA11 - Generating Triggers DDL
« on: April 02, 2015, 08:15:44 am »
With EA version 12, you can modify the DDL Generation template to add the owner name to the table name.

Open the DDL Template editor from menu Package | Database Engineering | Edit DDL Templates...

Select Language: Oracle, then select the DDL Column Extras template. In the CREATE TRIGGER statement near the bottom of the template, change the line ...

Code: [Select]
$trigger += "      ON " + $tableName + " \n"to ...

Code: [Select]
$trigger += "      ON " + $owner + "." + $tableName + " \n"

Resource is an Oracle keyword. Wrap it in double quotes...

Code: [Select]
SELECT  "Resource" FROM t_objectresource

Bugs and Issues / Re: MySQL ODBC driver problems - Solution

MySQL ODBC 5.1.12 works fine for me, on a 5.1.52 community server.

Have you set the 2 options listed in item 7 on page...

Make sure you have the 32-bit driver installed, and set it up from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

The value of an IDENTITY column has reached the maximum value of SQL Server's int data type.

Reset the values of identity columns as explained here...

Looks to me like you're trying to synchronize a data model by importing from source files.

Suggest you try Code Engineering | Import DB Schema from ODBC?
