General Board / Re: Generate DDL
« on: March 24, 2011, 08:18:19 am »
EA is asking you to define the target DBMS for the DDL, be it SQL Server, Oracle, or one of the supported DBMS. There's a drop down list of DBMS on the table properties dialog. You can set a default (before creating tables) from Tools | Options | Code Editors | Default Database.

How did you define data types for the columns? You would have needed the database set in order to define the data types.

Are you using Oracle's ODBC driver? The Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver won't work.

General Board / Re: DDL generation for SQL - Schema other than dbo

EA should generate a schema other than dbo, if you add the owner tagged value to the table.

If it doesn't, I suggest you submit a bug report using the link below.

You'll find SQL Server datatypes here...

Import as reference data - then restart EA and reload your project.

You need to load JET 4 to import from Access 2000-2003. Tools | Options | Use JET 4. Re-start EA.

Check you have at least the Professional edition of EA - database engineering is not available in the Desktop edition.

You also need to set up an ODBC driver before you import. For SQL Server 2000, use the SQL Server driver, for SQL Server 2005/2008 use the SQL Native Client.

The Firebird/InterBase(r) from IBPhoenix Inc works fine for me. You can download it from...
