  • To generate DDL for a single table, right-click the table on your diagram and select Generate DDL.
  • To generate DDL for a package, right-click the package in the Project Browser and select Code Engineering | Generate DDL.

Could be a compatibility problem.

In the properties dialog of EA.exe in the EA install folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Sparx Systems\EA), select the Compatibility tab and uncheck "Run this program in compatibility mode for:". You might also check this for the EA shortcuts.

See Notes half way down the page...

•For MySQL ENUM and SET datatypes, in the Initial field type the values as a comma-separated list, in the format ('one','two','three') or, if one value is the default, in the format: ('one','two','three') default 'three'.

EA is asking you to define the target DBMS for the DDL, be it SQL Server, Oracle, or one of the supported DBMS. There's a drop down list of DBMS on the table properties dialog. You can set a default (before creating tables) from Tools | Options | Code Editors | Default Database.

How did you define data types for the columns? You would have needed the database set in order to define the data types.

Are you using Oracle's ODBC driver? The Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver won't work.

General Board / Re: DDL generation for SQL - Schema other than dbo
« on: March 25, 2010, 07:56:12 am »
EA should generate a schema other than dbo, if you add the owner tagged value to the table.

If it doesn't, I suggest you submit a bug report using the link below.

You'll find SQL Server datatypes here...

Import as reference data - then restart EA and reload your project.
