Suggestions and Requests / Re: New online lesson

Hi RoyC,

While Smokeytown does not currently support the "Flat White" functionality you describe, they do provide a killer "Mocha" which does a similar thing. You could then create an addin that adds an extra dash of milk to the result and that may provide you with what you need.

I'd suggest sending a feature request to them asking for them to support the missing menu item.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Feature Request - Submit Button
« on: August 31, 2009, 08:55:58 am »
A common cause for this is if you have pasted your email address into the email field. The submit button will only be enabled if you have actually typed your email address into the email field by hand.

Does it highlight the field that is in error?

Can you pop through a feature request for this, and I'll get it done ASAP.

You could also try enabling auditing on your model, which should identify which user created and updated connectors over time. Please note however that this will also track changes on all elements (not just connectors) and may cause performance concerns on large models.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: EA on Linux through wine

Hi agdunn,

Yes Enterprise Architect can be installed under WINE and we are in the middle of documenting the installation process. Unfortunately the document isn't publically available yet as it is still being refined, however if you would like a copy to preview please send an email to support@sparxsystems.com for my attention and I'll forward it on.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Print All Diagrams
« on: March 31, 2009, 08:58:56 am »
Hello Erik,

While the functionality doesn't exist exactly how you describe it, there was a related change put into 7.5, which should allow you to print multiple diagrams at once from the Project Browser's context menu.

You should be able to select multiple diagrams (with [Ctrl]+[Left Click]), [Right Click] on the selection and select Print Diagram(s) from the context menu.

There's a few packages you have to install for DBMS support. Namely

- mdac28 (Microsoft Data Access Components)
- dcom98 (Distributed Component Object Model)

We suggest using the winetricks script to manage your wine packages (available at http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks). If you can part with a few dollars, Crossover does all of this automatically for you (and takes all the pain of font management away as well :p).

We also have a wine installation document under development. If you would like to preview a copy of it, please send an email through to sparxsupport marked for my attention.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Shape script optionality
« on: December 22, 2008, 12:10:04 pm »
Dave,

In the help, the following example script is given:

Code: [Select]
//Return Statement Shape

shape main
{
       if(hasTag("alternatenotation", "false"))
       {
               //draw ea's inbuild glyph
               drawnativeshape();

               //exit script with the return statement
               return;
       }

       //alternate notation commands
       //...
       rectangle(0,0,100,100);
}

That of course only makes decisions based on the tagged value of an element. As far as I know there's no current evaluation that will inspect a diagram's properties.

[edit]Just had a check and you could potentially use HasProperty to inspect whether diagram.name was a particular value.[/edit]

What vector format are you expecting? EA supports saving diagrams as EMF. If you are wanting SVG there are plenty of conversion utilities available.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Mac OS Support
« on: September 10, 2008, 02:10:44 pm »
A port to Mac OSX (or Linux for that matter) has not been currently scheduled, but the possibility has not been ruled out for the future.

In the short term, Enterprise Architect can be run on an Intel Mac using the CrossoverOffice compatibility layer. Sparx is committed to providing support full support for registered Macinstosh and Linux users running EA under CrossOver office.

Please see http://www.sparxsystems.com/support/faq/ea_on_linux.html for more details about running EA under CrossOver.

Alternatively, if it suits, EA could be installed on a virtual machine, such as VMWare, VirtualBox or Parallels

PS: If you'd like to log a request for a native Mac OSX port, please visit our feature request page http://www.sparxsystems.com/support/feature_request.html

For intel Macs EA can be run under WINE/CrossOver Office in the same fashion as it would under Linux.

Please see http://www.codeweavers.com/ for further information about CrossOver office.

Please see http://www.sparxsystems.com/support/faq/ea_on_linux.html for further information regarding installing EA under CrossOver office.
