To get Link as default do I need a feature request or a bug report? ;)

No, you Ctrl+Drag which brings up the dialog, choose "Drop as: Link" and tick the option "Save selection as default".

Bugs and Issues / Re: Quick Linker from a connector

You put "link:" in front of the connector type in column A. For example "link:Dependency".

As controlled by "Preferences > Objects > Show stereotype icon for requirements"? Sorry, no override.

Oh, the colours in the t_xref entry do not appear to be standard integer values from RGB!

They are decimal values of 6 character hexadecimals. Red is 255 (FF16), Green is 65280 (FF0016), Blue is 16711680 (FF000016) etc

With vertical tree style, it is expected that there will be multiple connectors converging onto a single target. Target labels are positioned so that they are kept separate from each other, and therefore readable. Add more blocks to the diagram and it should start to make sense.

General Board / Re: How do you select MDGs in EA Lite?
« on: April 07, 2017, 09:10:28 am »
In the Lite version, the MDG Technologies dialog is accessed from the Extend ribbon, not the Configure ribbon. The Manage Add-ins dialog is there also.

Hi Paolo

when i was trying to get help on my problem, browsing through content published by sparx. The user guide available on sparx website points to version 9.3 as below:

http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/9.3/automation/repository3.html

Is there any updated version which points to latest version (13)?

Regards,
Monica

Yes. http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/13.0/automation/repository3.html

Yes you can. Give the stereotype a _metatype attribute with initial value set to the name of the stereotype.

General Board / Re: Change language of all elements of a package

I missed this first time around or I would have mentioned that you can do it with the UI: Right-click package in Project Browser > Code Engineering > Reset Options for this Package.

General Board / Re: Location Catalogue

Thanks KP, I don't see a location element in the ArchiMate 3 Motivation toolbox (Strategy Concepts) only [Resource | Capability | Course of Action]???
Ah sorry, that'll be because I'm using an internal build.

I wonder what the decision was behind removing the element in the new archimate specification?

It hasn't been removed, just relocated. It is now in the ArchiMate 3 Motivation toolbox (Strategy Concepts) and Technology toolbox (Physical Extension).

72
Sounds like you have it set to Autohide. Right-click and switch off Autohide, then right-click and Hide.

73
I can find the list of default toolboxes in the documentation, but not the list of their elements (with exactly correct element names).

Is this help page useful?

General Board / Re: UML Types for Standard BPMN 2.0 stereotypes
« on: March 20, 2017, 11:58:21 am »
My question is, if I generalize my own MyStartEvent stereotype from BPMN2.0::StartEvent sterotype, why do I need to extend my own event-sterotype (MyStartEvent) from <<metaclass>> Event ? Don't I inherit the extension from the generalized StartEvent ?

BPMN2.0::StartEvent extends two metaclasses, Event and ObjectNode. EA needs to know which one you want to create.

General Board / Re: Populate checklist with model elements
« on: March 03, 2017, 11:35:33 am »
If you create a checklist and look at its tagged values, you will notice that its checkboxes are defined by some very simple XML:

Code: [Select]
<Checklist>
    <Item Text="One" Checked="False"/>
    <Item Text="Two" Checked="False"/>
    <Item Text="Three" Checked="False"/>
    <Item Text="Four" Checked="False"/>
</Checklist>

It shouldn't be hard to write a script to iterate diagram objects and create some XML in the same format.
