Uml Process / Object flow from ObjectNode to Action
« on: July 18, 2016, 03:42:47 pm »
Hello,

is there any restriction which does not allow an object flow from an ObjectNode to an ActionPin, like shown below?

All those examples I've seen, look like those below:

Thanks in advance..

General Board / Show element notes, when not using rectangle notation
« on: December 22, 2015, 12:54:32 am »
Hello all,

I would like to know whether it is possible to show the element notes via "Feature and Compartment Visibility" when not using the rectangle notation of an element.
I've tried that on an action and also on an activity and I prefer to use the standard notation with rounded corners.

Thanks in advance

General Board / Setting attributes of subclasses
« on: November 04, 2015, 09:55:16 pm »
Hi Guy's,

I have the following issue and I have no idea how to deal with it.

There is an action "Set Age" which should set the age of the object Mike, where Mike is an object of the Class User.

My question now is: How do I realize this? If I drag&drop Mike into an activity diagram, it will placed as an object and I don't know how to show that the action "Set Age" is setting Mikes age.

Thanks in advance!

General Board / Object and Control - Flows
« on: October 27, 2015, 07:38:59 pm »
Hi all,

I'm kind of confused regarding the usage of Object and Control-Flows in UML.

An Object-Flow is defined as following:
"An object flow is an activity edge that only passes object and data tokens."
Control-Flows are defined as:
"A control flow is an edge that starts an activity node after the previous one is finished."

Problem:
I wanted to model the following scenario:
Action1 (executed first) is passing data to Action2 (executed after Action1).

Question:
1. Is it enough to model this scenario via an Object-Flow (2nd approach in the image)? My concern regarding this procedure is, that an Object-Flow is not the right way to model an "execution-flow" (Control-Flow.
2. Or, do I have to (or can I) connect them with both Flows, an Object and Control-Flow as it is done in the image above, to show the flow of data and control?

Thanks..

General Board / Displaying notes within an element
« on: September 03, 2015, 05:44:48 pm »
Hi guys,

is it possible to display element notes within the element itself?
I know that notes are shown within a tooltip but how do I directly show them e.g. below the elements name instead or additionally to the Notes window?

Thx

General Board / Placing (dashed) lines and dashed high phases
« on: July 06, 2015, 08:01:29 pm »
Hello,

I was wondering whether there is a possibility to use/place single (dashed) vertical lines and (dashed) high phases within an timing diagram in enterprise architect.

Thanks and regards
