General Board / Re: .rtf documentation
« on: April 28, 2016, 08:41:51 pm »
If you add a linked document to an element it gets a red 'A' in the lower right corner as indicator. This works fine with 'older' elements, e.g. from UML. It does not work properly with 'newer' elements like BPMN activities. So it might not work with Archimate elements either.

CTRL-V and CTRL-Insert drop elements as link
SHIFT-CTRL-V drops element as new

This is a little help, not a solution. Before starting the VBA in MS-Word remove the three empty lines at the end of the generated document by hand. Don't ask me why. I'm Business Analyst, not Developer ;-)

General Board / Re: BPMN layers and creating Child diagrams
« on: March 30, 2016, 09:08:30 pm »
This function exists since ever. However it changed its name, place and behaviour over the versions. I must confess i can't remember how it was in v9. Look for 'advanced' - 'add composite diagram' or the like or wait for someone with v9 to answer.

From BPMN-activity context menu (right mouse click) choose 'new child diagram'. There choose 'Select composite diagram' for selecting an allready existing diagram or 'Add diagram...' to create a new one. Next make sure that the option 'composite structure diagram' is selected so a double-click on the BPMN-activity will open the child diagram.

Same question: http://sparxsystems.com/forums/smf/index.php/topic,30350.msg221773.html#msg221773.

I guess you have to edit the javascript template file to suppress tab generation. Tell me if you found the code fragment :-)

General Board / Re: HTML Generation: object properties without 'tabs'
« on: March 10, 2016, 06:33:51 pm »
Thanks Geert,
I already changed some css and, yes, I used the fields column of that table. But I really do not understand what to do with the fragment column. I guess it is somewhere hidden in the javascript template of the HTML and CSS Style editor. I am a business analyst and not a developer and so it is just a bit too difficult for me.

General Board / HTML Generation: object properties without 'tabs'
« on: February 23, 2016, 07:01:21 pm »
Hi all,
in the generated HTML code in the objects properties I have some tabs like 'Linked Documents', 'Flow to', 'Flow from', 'Tagged Values', 'Advanced'. Does anyone know where I can remove all tabs except the tab 'Linked Documents' in the Web Style Template? Or equally how can I remove all tabs and insert the content of the linked document below #NOTE# in the body-object template?
thanks for help
Stefan

.... or HELP - Keyboard Accelerator Map.

It's a good idea to select 'all commands' and copy them to EXCEL

Domain Object Model
The ERM model the business specialists should understand

Well zyx, the answer is easy: YES!

Assuming you have a (business-) DOM build from entity classes. The attributes contain business rules and data types that are valid at any time and company-wide (and usually implemented in the data base).
Next you have a control class model representing rules (incl. methods, aggregations aso.) concerning multiple attributes in one or more classes.
Next you have a boundary model, ideally connected with EAs user interface wireframes. Here you have rules concerning the UI only if other than above.

Then itís a good idea to put all items of a topic in one diagram to do some talking and clarifying with your business SMEs, architects and developers.

General Board / Re: BPMN 2.0: Use of lanes and pools
« on: February 09, 2016, 02:20:22 am »
If you move a lane into a pool it becomes a child. This usually workes fine within EA and can be seen in the project browser. Now resize the lanes so they entirely fill out the pool. Assuming your pool is horizontally you can now select the pool on its left "header and resize it on the marker on the right side and the lanes will resize either. However changing the height is something fuzzy. Sometimes the bottom lane is resized and still fitting the pool and sometimes not ?!

General Board / Re: Linked Doc marker missing on BPMN activities

... and this is their answer:

<...>
Unfortunately BPMN Activities do not currently support the display of the Linked Document marker (the red 'A') as you mentioned. I will submit a feature request on your behalf so that this is considered for implementation in a future release.
