General Board / Use Case Scenario to Structured Scenario
« on: May 22, 2012, 01:05:05 am »
Hi All

I inherited several old Use Cases where all the steps are in the "Description" tab of the Use Case Scenario (some have 60 steps), now with this new version would like to transfer all those steps to the "Structured Specification" tab.
I tried doing a copy and paste, and is a lot of work, copying step by step from one tab to the other.
Is there an easy way of doing this, like exporting to excel (this is easy) and importing into the Use Case and only to the Structured Scenario tab.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

General Board / Notification from Team Review
« on: February 14, 2012, 08:30:31 am »
Hi All

We started to use Team Review and would like to get an email notification when one of the Post gets apdated, read, approve, etc.
Is this posssible?
Do we need an Add-on for this?
I have not seeing how a user gets notify if he is in not in EA. Will be nice if he gets an email notification that the post got updated.
Have not seeing this either if he is in EA.

Can someone point to the right direction.

Thank you in advance,

General Board / Requirement Documentation by Phases
« on: February 10, 2012, 09:12:15 am »
Hi All

I am trying to output a simple RTF Requirement Document by different phases, I can see it when it shows at the Package Browser and filter by Phase, but would like to do the same at the document level.

Example: {Element.Phase}==3.0

Any help would be appreciated.

General Board / Re: Business Rule Model option missing
« on: December 13, 2011, 02:20:58 am »

Have an option, go to the Settings->Project Types-> General Types -> Constraints and add a new Constraints called Busines Rules

When you are at your Use Case you will have the option to add a Business Rule, just add your naming convension.

I use BR+XX+01 - XX := Use Case name.

EA + Raquest will do the trick.

Done this before.

Create a package under the Model root (My Diagrams-English) than add all your diagram, export them.
Create a another package under the Model root (MyDiagrams-German)
import and translate.

Don't see any other way - you have maintain both packages in sync - difficult but the only way I see is possible.

My 2 cents

Please take a look at RaQuest, an add-on of EA for Requirement Management at a fraction of ReqPro.
Will do audit of changes per requirements, also will do #7.

General Board / Re: Alternate to EA RTF generator

Hey Guys

What about using a Report Generator in the market to do all this.
I am familar with Reports Works and I am pretty sure this report generator can do this.

Had anyone here tried to generate the report through a report generator before.

What ever Paul told you, it is true.
But before going that way look into Raquest, add-on for EA.

Looks like you are in DW project, good tool for this.

General Board / Re: Defining Application Reports
« on: April 08, 2008, 11:44:41 pm »
Hi Brian

What about defining your reports in a Tree Requirement Diagram,
lets say you are going to define all reports as a 1 package, different reports will be packages out of that root. Example of a Customer report:

Report Package
              Customer Report
                        Req 1 Customer
                                    Req Detail
                                    Req  Summary
                                            Req by Customer
                                                   by Industry
                                                   by Region
                                                   by Class
                                                             Req All
                                                             Req Range
                                                             Req Individual

Hope this help. In each Requirement you can describe all columns needed, even the filter per report. If you use Raquest which is an add-on for EA you have more options.

This is how I am plannning to do it a system I am designing.

Best regards
