Suggestions and Requests / Re: Ruby and Ruby On Rails Support
« on: March 07, 2007, 04:18:55 am »
Now anyone can download Ruby MDG Technology file.

http://www.sparxsystems.jp/bin/ruby_mdg_template.xml

It's only simple generation source file from Class diagram. The code template itself is the same as above URL.

[FYI]

Now the template of above URL is not able to download. If someone wants to use it, I'll upload it to EA Users Group or EA Wiki.

Best solution is that EA supports Ruby directly. The Code template framework can satisfy only part of users requests.

Hi Vasile,

To use the XML file, just import from MainMenu | Tools | Import Reference Data.

It's quite simple template to generate Ruby classes from Class diagram. Maybe it's NOT sufficient for any users.

Hi Vasile,

I'm the man who made the original code template to generate Ruby code from Class diagram.

There are many request about Ruby generation/import in Japan and I already requested it to Sparx team.

Now I know they have a plan to support Ruby after release of version 7. Please send request to Sparx team to be able to use Ruby ASAP.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: RaQuest: Enhancement for Navigation
« on: October 19, 2006, 06:14:29 pm »
Hi Don,

Thank you for your report.

We found the word-wrap problem. It will be fixed on next build 039.

And about navigation problem in Tree, currently it's by design.
Because it's too slow if RaQuest show each requirement information when you use arrow keys.

Please press Enter key to show Requirement information.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Screen Size and Delete Function
« on: January 24, 2006, 11:23:22 am »
Hello KrzychoE,

Please try following key combination:

Ctrl+DEL (for both elements in diagram and Project Browser)
---> delete the element from entire model
DEL (for elements in diagram)
---> remove the element from current diagram

Ctrl+DEL is useful because you can delete multiple
items after selecting items in Project Browser
by using Ctrl+click or Shift+click (like common Windows
operation)

Hope this helps,

« on: November 06, 2004, 12:02:57 pm »
Hello,

You can assign Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F4 to close current diagram
by 'Tools'->'Customize'->'Keyboard tab'.

(Currently Ctrl+F4 is assigned to other feature, so
you must re-assgin the key conbination.)

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Printing relationship matrix
« on: November 03, 2004, 01:03:34 pm »
Hello,

Maybe you tried to print from MainMenu 'File'->'Print'.

Please try 'Marix'->'Print' from context menu of Relationship matrix.
This context menu appears when you right-click
on the background of Matrix header area.
('Matrix header' is area which shows 'Source', 'Target', 'Type', 'Link Type' etc.)

General Board / Re: Can't remember how to break a connector.

Hi Tom,

You need to create two or more bending points to a target connector, then select Suppress Segment menu item of its context menu.

General Board / Re: Where Best to Install WAN Optimizer
« on: August 25, 2015, 08:00:42 am »
Hello,

On the same subnet, you should not use the WAN Optimizer. I think it may cause bad performance. The WAN Optimizer is for disributed use, slow and narrow network connection.

I think the Cloud server is much better than the WAN Optimizer, the Cloud server offers not only the same feature as the WAN Optimizer, but offers more useful features.

General Board / Re: How to export/import user theme?
« on: August 18, 2015, 09:40:42 am »
Just for your information, I defined a new theme on EA version 12 (build 1215), and I can see diagram_themes.xml file at the folder.

This behavior must depend on the EA versions.

General Board / Re: Database Backup Options
« on: August 14, 2015, 08:48:49 pm »
In my experience, I use DBMS-offered backup feature. When I want to restore part of the model, I restore the backup data to another (temporary) DBMS database and export target backup as XMI, then import it to the original DBMS repository.

To do this operation easily, it is nice to set up another DBMS repository on other (virtual) machine in advance.
