General Board / Re: Element resize & Port array

Hello strongpine,

You can create a new Diagramobject by AddNew function with empty location information, then you can specify Diagramobject.Top, Bottom, Left and Right properties by using the 'formula'.
After setting the properties, call Diagramobject.Update.

General Board / Re: e-Book for Enterprise Architect available
« on: January 29, 2012, 10:50:51 am »

I am author of the book. About 3,000 copies of the book were sold in Japan, but now it is out of print. (The ISBN of the book was 978-4434110177.)

I learned that printed books are not suitable for EA because the content is soon getting old. Now we (Sparx Japan) offer basic and simple usage guide (B5/32p) as PDF for free.

General Board / Re: Generate HTML report with different package

Hi Bebert,

I think 'Model Documents' may solve your request. Create a new Model Document object, then drag'n'drop target packages from the Project Browser, and then generate HTML document for the Model Document object.

General Board / Re: Class attribute constraints on diagram
« on: September 05, 2014, 07:30:53 am »
Just FYI, to show something next to attribute, create tagged value 'xUML'. For example, if you add attribute's Tagged Value 'xUML' and set its value to '{some constraint}', it shows like following in Class diagrams:

int attributeName {some constraint}

General Board / Re: Element properties name: forced line break?
« on: September 01, 2014, 02:10:43 pm »
You can add line-break wite the following steps, but there are some problems (e.g. generationg document) since it is not assumed.

1. select target object in a diagram and press F2
2. move cursor where you want to add line-break
3. press Ctrl+Enter

I remember some type of objects can not accpet this operation.

General Board / Database Modeling Add-in DBMode 3.2 released
« on: May 09, 2014, 08:52:41 am »
Sparx Systems Japan has been released DBMode version 3.2, which enhances Enterprise Architect's Database modeling.

This version's main enhancement is supporting Enterprise Architect's Floating License (Shared key).[ch12288]Enterprise Architect version 11.0 offers new event EA_GetSharedAddinName to be able to use its floating license system. Maybe this DBMode is the first add-in product to support EA's floating license system by using this event.

Please try the following:

Tools | Options | Source Code Engineering | uncheck 'Remove hard breaks from comments on import'

Just for your information, RaQuest supports editing multiple requirements at once.

General Board / Re: EAP files getting larger
« on: July 16, 2013, 06:27:30 am »
Usually, the following data tend to be large:

- Audit log
- Baseline data
- Images

Maybe the first or second item is the reason, I guess.

General Board / Re: Line break in diagram object name
« on: May 27, 2013, 04:16:21 pm »
You can add a line break by the following steps for some type of objects, but it causes bad result for code generation and document generation...

1. select a target object in a diagram
2. press F2 and move cursor to location to add a line break
3. press Ctrl+Enter

General Board / Re: Foreign key sync
« on: April 04, 2013, 12:47:45 pm »

AFAIK, EA does not support what you want. We offer add-in 'DBMode' to support database modeling.

DBMode supports your first item, i.e. automatic generation FK and relationship between Tables by reffering PK from another Table. About the second item, DBMode does not update related items automatically[ch12288]either. But its checking feature can find type mismatching between PK and FK. Or, using Domain feature, changes will be automatically applied to both Tables.

Hope this helps,

General Board / Re: Displaying attribute-level constraints
« on: January 19, 2013, 01:09:04 pm »
The reason why I know this xUML tag is that I am the man who requested this feature in several years ago.

xUML means eXecutable UML, and this notation is used in some book about executable UML.

General Board / Re: Displaying attribute-level constraints
« on: January 18, 2013, 01:21:57 pm »
If an attribute has a tagged value 'xUML', its value will be shown in the attribute compartment. Adding this value and enter a constraint will solve your problem.
