With the Reporting templates for the Embedded Elements section - it is best to set this on, but leave it blank.
Then it will replicate the sections under Package | Element - including Attributes etc.
These Package | Element | Attribute & Method sections need to be polulated with any necessary deatils in the template.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Adding an URI to an element

I am not sure if this is of use, but you can set an Action Element as a direct Hyperlink: Action | Other | Hyperlink - see the help page:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/12.0/domain_based_models/add_action_as_hyperlink.html

Once you set the URL - Double Clicking will open the page.

If you have either EA version 11 or 12 the simplest solution is to use the Cloud Service.  With this:
 - The ODBC set up is external to the user
 - The read-only users can be allocated a specific port for read-only access
 - It can be used external to your LAN
Also note that read-only access to the Cloud repository can be by using EA Lite (free), that can be downloaded from the Registered user section of our web page.

For more Cloud information see:

It does state it is Pdata(x).

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Change order of Model Document attributes
« on: January 19, 2010, 10:44:42 am »
The attributes are sortable via the Attributes View. The Project Browser arrows refer to packages/elements not sub-Elements. If you do want them sortable via theProject Browser it migh tbe best to lodge a Feature Request for this.

The Child Element section by default, if left clear of fields, will replicate the full Element section - which will include Element::Linked Documents if set on.
So I suggest you set this section on but leave it unpopulated - see the standard (basic template).

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Document generation from class diagram subset
« on: September 16, 2009, 04:57:49 pm »
RTF documents can be generated from Packages or single Elements but not from a Diagram.  However, if the Package simply has a diagram with no elements (the diagram consists of external elements) then a standard report can be run - just ensure the template has Package:: Diagram::Elements - set on but blank - and that the detail is layed out in the Package::Element - section.

On builds earlier than ~ 834 there was a page break between Model Documents - this has been removed in recent builds.

Try Ctrl-A to select all, then in the context menu select: Copy to Clipboard.
Open say Excel and Ctrl-v to get the full format - save to CVS.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: SQL UPDATE Capability

If you are performing selective element updates then it may be best to look at using the: View | Element List - this allows quick access to each elements status in one view.

I suggest you look at this help page for Package based updates to these fields:

As a Work-around you can do a Ctrl-F Model Search using SQL:

SELECT t_object.ea_guid AS CLASSGUID, t_object.Object_Type AS CLASSTYPE, t_object.Name, t_document.DocType
FROM t_object INNER JOIN t_document ON t_object.ea_guid = t_document.ElementID
WHERE (((t_object.Object_Type)='Package') AND ((t_document.DocType)="Baseline"));
