General Board / Re: Report showing Use Case to Reqmts to Test Case
« on: June 11, 2015, 02:45:26 pm »
For the Requirements - use the Section: Package | Element | External Requirements.
For the Test Case elements - these will be shown as relationships in the Connector Section (source and target sections).

The Table Properties has a drop-down Database in the Main tab.
This is where you can change the DBMS type.

If your elements are children see "Include child elements even if the parent element is filtered out" on:

If it is more UML models that you are wanting there are example models associated with some of the Webinbars, videos and whitepapers available on:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/resources/index.html

The Learning Center covers some detailed runs over specific functionality (Alt+F1).

There are also further resources (Whitepapers) available on the community site:

If you are importing these from a spreadsheet and wanting group them by packages - see the CSV import example in the whitepaper:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/downloads/whitepapers/Requirements_Management_in_Enterprise_Architect.pdf
Alternatetively try the MS Office interface Excel importer:

General Board / Re: Wire Framing Webpage - Name
« on: May 11, 2015, 09:58:51 am »
I am not sure if I interpreted your question correctly - but if you are wanting to emulate a number of web pages being called by buttons, you can simply set a button Element as Composite and have it reference another wireframe diagram.  That way clicking on the button will open the next wireframe. If it is navigation map the same referencing can apply.

General Board / Re: Baseline information in generated documentatio
« on: May 05, 2015, 12:10:05 pm »
If you do want to create an document with differences between the Baseline and the current model you can try the following:
- Export the XMI from the Baseline and import it into another model
- Create a report template and copy this to the external model
- Run reports from both models
- Use Word or Libre office to do a document compare between reports to produce a single report with the changes visible.

UML Statechart simulation is supported, but not for graphical output. For a graphical output you might look at the SysML parametric simulation. There is a simulation example in the EAExample model:
 - Project Models.Systems Engineering.Requirements Model.Constraint Blocks.EchoDSP.EchoDSP
This gives a graphical sine wave output.

General Board / Re: Questions about the deployment of CloudService
« on: April 08, 2015, 01:58:47 pm »
With Project Transfers you can use the .eap or the CLoud Service base EABASE.FDB. For a copy of the .FDB see in the Cloud services directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sparx Systems\Cloud Services\Service\Models.

If you are doing multiple databases you might consider installing EA on the server and doing project transfers from the EABASE.FDB to the Postgres DB's.

Q. It seems that for each EA projet, we need to create a new PostgreSQL base, a new ODBC32 datasource, right ?
A. Yes.

Q.   Can I dump this empty project and use it to create several other projects whitout any risks (of duplicate GUID for exemple) ?
A. Yes - there can be some duplication of the base, but these in general should not cause any conflict.

I suggest you contact support for a copy of the leatest installer document.

There is some example script for creating Resources (Tasks) in th Script view - Local Scripts folder. See the Script 'jScript - Repository extras'.

Rather than arguing your case through specific Case Studies maybe you can present some common benefits of Model Driven Developement from requirements that are traceable to the Class (and code), through to Testpoints defined in the model for testing the code.
There are papers covering these sorts of topics:

There are some Transform scripts available on the Community site for doing a reverse transform from DDL (Physical) to Logical and Logical to Conceptual - see: http://community.sparxsystems.com/community-resources/512-84data-modeling-logical-and-conceptual-mda-transforms

Quote
as it provides a way to open a diagram directly from the database (as far as i've read)
The HTML generation does provide a copy of the data from the database, but not a direct link. If this is required - an alternative is to use EA Lite (free) and the Cloud service. This will provide real-time off-site read-only access to the source model (along with the ability to lodge comments via the Team-review forum).

Pierre, have a look at the MDA transforms. This includes transforms from Logical model Class to C#, DBMS specific and XSD and WSDL:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/10/model_transformation/mdastyletransforms.html
See also the paper on it's specific application to Data modeling:
