General Board / ICONIX Roadmap is gone with build 816
« on: September 22, 2007, 08:10:18 am »
After install version 7 release 816 the ICONIX Roadmap and ICONIX projects no longer show up as options when creating a new project after updating to version 816.

I did re-install the ICONIX plug-in hoping that would bring it back, but I had no luck.

Is this a known bug or is it that ICONIX is no longer supported as a start up project option? ??? ?

Thanks in advance ....

General Board / Re: EA 7.0 MDG 3.0 Errors- Wait to upgrade
« on: July 19, 2007, 05:25:30 am »
I upgraded this morning and I am happy to report that the issue has been resolved with build 814.

I will be using Version EA 7.0 and MDG 3.0 to put together the documentation for a new project we are starting next week.

I noticed EA 7.0 Build 814 has been released.  There is however no mention of resolving the MDG issue I mention in my post.  I received an email, copied in my post, that said the issue would be resolved in build 814.  There is mention MDG performance has improved, but I would think something that has stopped the product from being used would be a resolution.

Has anyone that could not open their repositories with 813 open them with 814?

I am not willing to upgrade until SPARX specifically says the issue has been resolved.

I thought I would provide a link to the installation issues I ran into since I have not seen any "Known Bugs" listed anywhere.

In the end I had to revert back to EA 6.5 and MDG 2.1

General Board / EA shuts down on Data Transfer to SQL
« on: May 15, 2006, 07:20:44 am »
I am getting "Enterprise Architect has experienced a network error and will close down" when I try to transfer from a .EAP file to SQL 2005 Server repository.

This worked fine on previous builds.  I saw this posted in another thread, but that thread went off the subject.

Has anyone else experienced this and worked through it?

Thanks,
Tad

General Board / Re: Stereotypes on features and requirement diagra
« on: February 02, 2006, 03:27:42 am »
Thanks for all the replies.  I just ended up using classes and stereotyping them accordingly.

Not really what I wanted to do :-/ , given EA has features and requirements build in, but we need the stereotypes to show up on the diagram for analysis purposes.

I would like the stereotypes I apply to features and requirement to show up on the diagrams, instead of just on the project view tree and in the generated rtm as text.

We want a visual reprentation of the stereotype on the diagram.

The only thing that shows up is and E or a F, but not the steriotype you apply to it.

Is there a way to get the actual stereotype you apply to the features and requirements to show up on them?

Wot, no apology?

For what?  It should not have used a custom profile over the Sparx loaded profile.  It is still a bug. Like I said above these projects went through 2 other major version upgrades with no issue.

Figured it out.  It was a being affected by a custom profile I had written.   I am not sure why upgrading to 8 and to 9 didn't affect it this way, but deleting the profile worked.

Thanks for your feedback and help.

You are correct.  It is a SPEM deliverable, but it should not be.  Turning off SPEM does not help and we should not have to do that.

The problem is EA 10 is using the Stereotype to define the Type instead of the Type.  These requirements had a Stereotype of "Deliverable" and a Type of "Requirement".

Disabling SPEM before opening the project also does not work.  Changing the requirement to Functional (one predefined for Type Requirement) fixes it, but the custom stereotype of Deliverable cannot be created or use without Deliverable changing to a SPEM type even with SPEM disabled.

This is not good.  We will not be able to upgrade until this is fixed.  We have a ton of diagrams that will be affected.  These diagrams have been through multiple major version upgrades (8,9) and we had no problem.

Requirement diagrams show all notes and compartments after upgrading and they cannot be turned off.  I have submitted it as a bug but want to post here also.

Here is an example
