Add filter criteria to a model search or an RTF report template

Search On

Select items to build up search filters on any information about an object.

The following is a list of what is available, before you have defined a search:


If you are adding filters to an existing search, the list contains only items appropriate to the initial filter.

For example, if the initial filter is on diagram properties, the list for any subsequent filters for the search only contains the Diagram option.




Select each field item to include in your search (select the checkbox).




Identify the name of the field to search.

The list presents items specific to the filter Search On item.




Fields and Conditions


Specify the condition of the search parameter.



Type a value pertaining to the selected element field.

For example, the value could be a date for DateCreated or a text value for other fields.

The search term can contain multiple values separated by commas.



Select a particular field to generate a result set that must contain your search term in that field.



Check All

Select all the items to include them in the search definition.



Uncheck All

Deselect all the items to omit them from the search definition.




Apply the filter.

The fields selected are added to the search definition.




You can add multiple search definitions as necessary; however, if you select the Required field in multiple definitions the search rapidly becomes impractical
Multiple search definitions are better for 'and/or' searches
