Configuring IIS for WebEA Windows Authentication

IIS Windows Authentication can cause a conflict with WebEA's Windows Authentication option. If WebEA is deployed using IIS and you wish to use WebEA's 'Login with Windows ID' then the WebEA site itself must have Windows Authentication disabled as described below.

Steps

Step

Action

1

Open the Windows 'Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager' application.

2

Select your WebEA site from the 'Sites' list, then open the 'Authentication' configuration.

3

Enable Anonymous Authentication and disable Windows Authentication.

4

Again, select your WebEA site from the 'Sites' list, then open the 'Modules' configuration.

5

Select the 'WindowsAuthenticationModule', then click the 'Remove' action.

6

Now select the IIS server/home, then click the 'Restart' action.

7

IIS is now configured to allow use of WebEA's 'Login with Windows ID' option. See the Single Sign-On (SSO) with WebEA topic for details.
