UML Types

When the UML was devised its 'grammar' was designed to allow for extensions much in the same way that natural language grammars such as English and French are extended over time. Two of the most important of these extension mechanisms are Stereotypes and Tagged Values.

Using the 'UML Types' dialog you can configure stereotypes, Tagged Value Types and Cardinality (Multiplicity) Values for your project. In more detail, you can:

  • Add, modify and delete stereotypes
  • Customize stereotypes' appearance
  • Update Shape Scripts and metafiles associated with stereotypes
  • Create and modify Tagged Values
  • Define cardinality rules
