Title: EA 6.5 Beta - Eclipse MDG Problem --- URGENT
Post by: kelkaraa on August 25, 2006, 11:11:24 am
Hello EA Admins,

Problem Synopsis:
I have a problem with the Eclipse MDG link as using the link from EA invokes eclipse as a runaway process and my computer crashes and has to be shut down as there are eclipse windows starting every second in an infinte loop.

Here is my systems details:
1: Windows XP SP2
2: EA 6.5 Beta
3: Eclipse 3.1
4: Eclipse MDG Eval Version (current version downloaded yesterday)

Here are the steps I took:
1: Opened Eclispe workspace
2: Opened EA
3: Right click on a package in EA and went to Add-Ins->Eclispe->View Project Connections

Result:
About 30 (before I turned the machine off) eclipse instances opened in next 20 seconds and they kept opening. I had to switch off my machine as I coould not kill the processes fast enough as new ones kept spawning. It seems like an infinite loop or runaway thread.

I need immediate solution and I would really appreciate if you fix the problem piece (MDG link or EA 6.5 Beta) and upload the right one on your web site

Regards

Kelkaraa, I attempted to re-create this problem but had no success. Has this behaviour repeated?

Also, can you please provide me with the build number for your version of EA? It should be in the Help | About EA... dialog.

Hello bmioch,

Yes the behavior has repeated. I just tested it. As far as the build number

1: EA 6.5.795 (build 795) - Unicode

Hello Kelkaraa,

Could you confirm that you installed the .jar file as explained in the documentation that came with EclipseLink?
