Version: 11.0.1107
Database: 4.01
OS: Win7 Enterprise SP1
Platform: Parallels VM 11 - 11.0.0 - 31193
Very noticeable when working with Class Attributes
Seems to have become a much bigger problem in last few weeks
Get a [Not Responding]
Have to close application and reopen
Database is repaired and compacted
Very frustrating - almost makes EA unusable
-
UPDATE: Actually renders EA unusable. Am beginning search for alternative. Please help.
-
You probably wont find help for alternatives here. I'm running EA under Parallels since many years without an issue. You should contact Sparx support to help you with your issue. Usually they are very reactive when it comes to issues like that.

Thanks for the reply
I'm not looking for help with alternatives - that will be my only available course of action if I can't fix this
I'm looking for help stabilizing EA on Parallels
I had been happily running EA on Parallels for about 4 months (that's when I got a Mac at work). But in the last two weeks it is crashing constantly
-
As said: don't hesitate to contact Sparx support with your issue.

Ok, the problem might be between the seat and the keyboard here. ;D
I recently started keeping my eap file on OneDriveBusiness and accessing it directly from there. I'm experimenting with working from a local copy and so far better. I will post back IF I'm still having a problem
-
UPDATE: Working off a local copy did not appreciably solve the problem
I have tried working off a local copy on my Mac (via a share on the VM) as well as dropping the file on the VM Windows file system as well
Basically, randomly some actions (e.g. creating an attribute) takes forever or doesn't complete at all. I get a spinning wheel and sometimes if I wait long enough the action completes other times it doesn't
I'm back to: EA is unusable on my VM.
-
I had some real bad issues last weekend. I several hours of work as a result of the VM suspending in Fusion. When it came back, invariably, EA would suffer a crash.
I think I narrowed it down to the sharing between the mac and the vm. Now that I'm storing the files within the VM itself it seems to be acting as it should.
Not sure if this will help, just wanted to throw it out there.

Given I haven't said it for a while... We test mac support using wine/crossover. In theory if Parallels and VMWare Fusion are working, then it should be equivalent to running on Windows. Unfortunately, if something does go wrong specific to those platforms there won't be much we can do.
BasicSystems, do you get the same problem working in a completely new eap file? Is it possible to do a data transfer to a new file? It's possible that the file could have been corrupted by your "experiment" with onedrive. Do you have a backup from before then?
-
This might help
Also, my file is quite large - I will delete some huge areas
? How do I transfer from one .eap file to another?

Your should also consider trying the latest version (http://www.sparxsystems.com/products/ea/index.html)of EA.
