Title: Creating a Design Master
Post by: steve_clark on April 18, 2002, 12:03:46 pm
I'm getting the following error while trying to create a design master for replication purposes.

"Operation not supported on replicable databases that have not been converted to the current version."

I'm using Win2kPro, Access 2002, EA build 482.  What gives?

Thanks.

Steve

Hello,

The problem that you are describing sounds like it is caused by an incompatiblity between the versions of MSAccess that EA distributes and the version you have installed.  By default EA project files are Access97 databases, since you have Access2002 installed, when EA calls Jet to create the design master it expects an Access2002 database.  To overcome this you will need to manually open the EA project with Access2002 and upgrade the project to the new 2002 structure.  Then in EA's Local Option screen you will need to enable Jet 4.0, from main menu View->Options then make sure the 'Use JET 4.0 data access' checkbox is ticked.  Now retry the create design master process, we have just followed the same process and it was successful.  However we did find an additional problem when trying to synchronize a replica and design master, a fix for this will be included in the next build which should be out early next week.

Hope this helps.
