Title: Creating own diagram scheme for EA?
Post by: Dun on November 28, 2006, 12:22:15 am
Hi folks, I'm wondering how could I add my own (our company;) ) model diagram scheme into the architect. We are lookikg for goor tool, like EA is, but it we need ability of adding own diagram (something like BPMN addin).
Is that possible? What tools / knowledge do I need for this?

Thank you... for your answers.

The BPMN add-in is an example of an add-in developed with the automation API in EA. Sparx provides a few of these. Some, like BPMN, are free while others are separately priced products.

The API is published, and pretty stable and reliable. You'll find some information and examples in the EA documentation. More can be found via the Resources page on the Sparx site - you'll really need to look there if you are building a serious add-in.

There is also some material to be found on the EA User Group and Wiki sites (you'll find the locations in this forum).

There is a bit of a learning curve, but IMHO it is well worth the effort.
