Title: Switching on security
Post by: sbaishya on December 31, 2002, 04:52:23 am
Hi everyone, hope the EA community all had a good Christmas.

We have just upgraded our 25 installations to Corporate Edition, and would now like to switch on security for a model. EA prompts me to enter my licence key, and here lies the problem. Our copies of EA are installed by a separate desktop team, who don't have a record of which key belongs to which machine.

So my question is, is there any way of finding my registration key without me having to type in up to 25 keys from a list, and then visit each other PC to do the same to identify their keys from the (hopefully diminishing) list.

Many thanks, and happy new year.

Stephen,

There's a separate key that you need to enter when enabling security (not the same one as used to enable the product).

Sparx has published it on the web site somewhere (but I can't remember where exactly - try the registered members area).  Also, when you upgraded to Corporate Edition you should have been sent this key by email.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Martin.

P.S.  You only have to type this key in once when you have the model open - the security feature is enabled on a per model basis and not in your local copy of EA, so everyone else should get a username/password dialog when opening that model file without them needing to treak anything.

Martin.
