Title: Syncronize SQL Server database
Post by: fcotroneo on March 27, 2003, 03:05:55 am
Hallo everybody!

I'm using EA with a shared SQL Server 2000 reposity. When working outside the company I use a local copy of the SQL database.

I'd like to know if EA has got a feature for syncronizing automaticaly my local database with the central one.

Thank you

Hi Francesco,

I'm not sure, but is the replica option in the admin menu enabled when using SQL Server? I know for sure that when an Access database (the "old" way) is used, that option can be used to make a replica of the database, take it home and sync it with the "master" lateron. Please look in the usermanual of help for more info on this subject.

If the replica option is not available, I'm not sure if EA support replica & synchronisation for SQL Server.

Good luck,
Tjerk

Hi Tjerk

The replica option in the admin menu is not enabled when using SQL Server. It is enabled with .EAP files, and work fine. I don't understand why this feature is working with an access database and is not with Sql Server.

I hope that new version of EA will have this feature.

Hi Franco,

Sorry that it doesn't work. The why might be simple, the access database is probably copied on file level and not on SQL level  ;). For the rest, please drop a request at Sparx.
