Hi

The enterprise Architect generate "Phisycal Model" for SQL?

Hi,

Enterprise Architect does not have the concept of Conceptual/Logical and Physical model like your typical data modeling tools per se. You can however achieve the same results.
Class diagram is equivalent to the conceptual/logical model. You can also create the physical model, using stereotyped classes, i.e. classes with stereotype of <<table>>
And from this model, you can generate the SQL necessary to physically create these tables and relationships between them.

Hi Bruno,

the question came up earlier... what would be a good way to keep those model layers in sync? Traces are fine, but don't relieve you from manually adapting the "physical" model...

Hi Mike,

unfortunately, I do not see any automated solution at present, it will probably have to be manual.
It shouldn't be too difficult to write an utility that would handle the synchronization between the two models, logical an physical, using the Automation Interface though.
My view: EA can be used for data modeling just fine. Comfortably? No. (even though that is for a reason, to do a good job at this, it would take a lot of work, not related to UML modeling).
