Title: 2 questions.
Post by: pathurun on March 25, 2005, 03:37:57 pm
1. Can we draw a diagram from 1 or more dll files? If so can you give the steps please.
2. Can we draw a diagram out of both .vb and .cs files? Please give steps. I will appreciate it.
Thanks.

1.  No.  If you want to reverse engineer you need the source code.

2.  Right click on class diagram and select Import from Source file.  Select the type of file and file name.  Repeat this step for each class you want to add.  (Each assocation will automatically be added).

1. we could ask Sparx to build a DLL reverse engineer (RR has this possibility).

Not always - look here (EA 747 onwards) - http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general;action=display;num=1109185874;start=1#1

EA can import diagrams from .jar files according to the reply. Not quite DLLs, or VB. Still nice.

Is this an offense? pathurun is asking for .vb and you offer .jar ;D

No offense taken my side. It is great to know that you can rev engineer jar files, it will also be great if it can be done with dll files.
Thanks.

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd let you know that build 4.60 will have support for reverse engineering .Net exe, dll, and IL files.

Usually, when something seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true ...

Likely the license fee for EA will tend to reach that of RR :P

I Previewed that thought at the end of my previous comment - but then decided it might be self-fulfilling and didn't Post it!
