Title: Problem with Requirements Element not being displa
Post by: Murali_Menon on July 14, 2005, 07:18:05 pm
I am a user of Enterprise Architect. Recently, I added several REQUIREMENTS to a project file in the following manner:

1. Created a Package called Requirements.

2. Created a Custom diagram called ‘Custom Requirements’ under it.

3. Added some use-cases that existed in the project by dragging and dropping them into the diagram.

4. Added Requirements to the diagram using the object ‘Requirements’ in the Tool Box.

5. Using the ‘Realize’ connector linked the use-cases with the Requirements(s).

I am not able to see any of the Requirement objects as elements within the project View on the Right Hand Side. The view has many requirements that we had added a while back.

Please help me address this problem so that I can see the ‘requirements’ elements in the project View.

Thanks,

Murali

Try the following:
- select one of the requirements in the diagram
- press Alt+G
You now should have the focus in the browser.

When adding new elements in a diagram, EA chooses the currently open package/element where it places them.

Alternatively you can use the Find command to locate the requirements.

What I need to do is to make sure that the Requirements show as elements in the project browser so that I can drag and drop them into other diagrams.

You can have the Tagged Values window docked so you see all Tags. On diagrams you can set visibility of Tags also. Need more than that?

Thanks Thomas.

What I need is for the "Requirements" to show up as elements in the project browser so that I can add them to any diagram. For some reason, many of them are not showing up.

I could imagine that you have declared some as internal in the class/use case properties. Make sure you mark them as external (or in future use the requirement element from the toolbox). They will appear in the project browser after that.
