Title: Creation dialogue when dragging a stereotype
Post by: cuninghamd on September 17, 2007, 06:34:01 am
HI,
I i'm trying to replicate the kind of behaviour that you get when using the XML profile when creating for example a XSDcomplexDocumentType.

I have created a new profile for creating glossary element (as I wish to have the semantics of being able to link the glossary elements to other elements) , which works, but I'm struggling on how to automatically pop up a dialogue which will ask for the term, definition & type ( as defined by three tagged values ) and I wish to display the term, type and definition in the model & nothing else.

I've struggled for 2 days now & can't seem to find a way to do it.

Thanks in advance for any help

Dave.

See http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/EAUserGuide/index.html?broadcastpostnewelement.htm.  It talks about supressing the default EA dialog and you can show your own instead.

Simon,
Thanks for the tip, However, is this how it is achieved when using the UML profile for the XSD schema - I don't recall having to download any .dll to enable this to happen - or is it somehow already within EA?

No, the XSD schema dialogs are part of EA, not an addin.  But you can achieve a similar effect as I described.
