Title: Version control (VSS) with nested packages

I am currently investigating how best we can use EA in our company.  I have been trying out a number of scenarios with nested packages.   Should I be able to check out a child package and make changes to it without having to have the parent package checked out?  We are using version 5.00.767 and Visual Sourcesafe.
