Title: Access database engineering
Post by: Jeanluc on December 01, 2005, 06:13:23 am
Hi,

I need to use Database engineering on mdb database and I get an error response:

Unrecognized database format.

Isn't EA able to get database structure for an mdb standard database ?

Some time ago I did that, but it worked. Maybe it's a Jet 4 issue?

J-Luc - did you ever get this fixed ?

I would suggest moving away from MS Access and upgrading to either MSDE or SQL Server Express, both are free.  I would assume EA's support for these databases is much richer than for MS Access.

Importing from an Access 2000 or higher database requires Jet 4 to be set in EA.

From the Tools menu, select Options | General and check the box labelled "Use JET 4.0...".

You will need to close and restart EA for the change to take effect.
