Title: Provider is no longer available error

Hi all,

I’ve set up an Oracle 9i EA repository. I’ve also installed MDAC 2.8 on my desktop. However, when I attempt to select "Oracle Provider for OLE DB" from the OLE DB Provider list in the Open Project Dialog, I receive a Provider is no longer available. Ensure the provider is properly installed error.

I then uninstalled MDAC 2.8 and installed MDAC 2.7. The same error was again experienced.

Does anyone know what can be done to rectify this matter?


I'm running a Windows XP SP1 desktop.

If re-installing MDAC doesn't fix it, the problem lies with the Oracle OLE DB Provider.
