Hi all,
Does somebody knows a possibility how to use the ressource information of EA for MS Project?
I'm trying to find a suitable and very easy solution for a client and they are using MS Project already. From my perspective it would make a lot of sense to synchronize the information between EA and MS Project related to the ressource information.
Thanks for a hint

The resource information in EA is not used for further calculation so you will need an add-in to prepare this data for you.
Either you write it your own or you use TimeArchitect (http://www.timearchitect.net/). I am currently evaluating it for our own purposes.

I know that Bruno Cossi once had a framework for MS Project synchronization. I havn't had contact since quite a while so you might contact him via his company. (Need to look up the EA users)

Hi,
Thanks for the infos. I also try to evaluate Time Architect at the moment. It's a bit light at the moment and also does not allow an export/synch of the data.
My biggest issue is that you really get used to the diagrams of TA. The company told me that they are going to release a new version soon. Will check what changed.
Bruno Cossi is a good hint. Will try to get in touch with him
Cheers

Currently I am evaluating the 2.0 sneak preview which looks promising. Matt Ellis from Solutions Reality is rather responsive when it comes to questions and issues.

Alex, TA does allow you to export all of the information you have created to MS Project. It does not create an MS Project file, but it does export via CSV and MS Excel - both of which can then be imported into Project...

Glad you like the diagrams - we think that they look pretty good too ;D
Version 2.0 will be released soon - this version does not yet support import from MS Project...
...however we have added a profile to 2.0 that includes the concept of a Task element (actually a stereotyped Requirement) - this will become a placeholder for information imported from MS Project in a later version... (possibly 2.1)
Hope that helps....
