Hi,
I use Firebird 2.x in all my java projects and I would like have my EA repository on Firebird Database then I tried do this:
I created a Firebird script from Oracle Script and got build the database. Then I created an ODBC Datasource pointing to this Firebird database. I can see this Datasource from EA Connection Dialog. After enter user and password the test of connection works fine but when I click on "OK" button I recive the follow message from EA:
Invalid Data Source... Check configuration.
Does someone got that ? Any suggestion ?
Thanks

Firebird is not one of the supported databases.
Check http://www.sparxsystems.com/products/ea_sysreq.html for the list.

There isn't any reason to post to multiple boards.
InterBase and Firebird are not supported repositories.

Hi Yuma,
As it was said already EA does not support Firebird. How about you use other free systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL? They should give you the same results as Firebird, and you will have full compatibility with EA.

Hi,
It´s a pity Firebird is not supported. I prefer Firebird instead MySQL because the Firebird is many times faster, uses less hardware resources and it´s so reliable than MySQL. I use that for 3-4 years and I´m so happy with obtained results.
How I have not other choice then unfortunately I will use MySQL.
Thanks by your attention.

Hello Simon,
I not posted multiple boards. The posts are different. In one these I request suggestions to make Firebird works as repository. In other I suggest this feature to SPARX.
